Besides doing my usual walks everyday, lately I've also been getting in more rides on my electric bike. You might think I'm not getting much exercise on an electric bike, but I do. Instead of just turning on the power and going for a ride, I leave the power off and do as much of the pedaling as I can on my own. I power all the flat areas and the downhill riding myself. I also do the smaller hills. I only turn it on when I come to a big hill. I estimate that I'm now doing the pedaling for about 80% of our outings. I "feel the burn", so I know I'm getting some good exercise. I also have lots of fun exploring this area on a bike.
Photo Description:
1) That's me on my electric bike. Those fat tires are awesome for riding the trails around here. They're great on paved and gravel roads too.
2) Kevin and I rode our bikes high into the nearby hills. We then got off our bikes to do a little exploring on foot. I took this photo looking back where we parked our bikes. We had a great view from up there! You can see our bikes parked in the foreground with our campground and the Castle Dome Mountains in the background. That lake is the Senator Wash Reservoir.
3) We've seen more wild burros (Equus asinus) here this year than last year. I'm glad they're here.
4) One of my favorite things about being in the desert southwest is getting to enjoy the amazing, always different sunsets. This was last night's sunset over the campground. You can see some of my neighbors in the foreground.
Happy Holidays, everybody! 🎅
