For the record, I hate journaling. I just started the keto life style yesterday and it will be interesting to see how it goes. I love my starches but did find a good keto bread recipe that actually tasted pretty decent. I have never put so much butter on bread as I did last night and it will take some getting used to. Now if it was on a red potato, no problem! I also purchased cauliflower which I have never gotten before, now to just eat it....was over my macro count in carbs and fats and under for protein. Lets see how today goes.

I have an answer for the macro question - at approximately 1243 calories, your macros should go like this: 25 grams of carbs for 100 calories. 85 grams of fat for 765 calories. 95 grams of protein for 380 calories. Slightly complicated by net carbs - Fatsecret does not deduct the calories for fiber. Total carb grams minus fiber grams equal net carbs. The fiber can add 4 calories per gram that doesn't count in your macros. So pick a measure - either grams or calories and stick with measuring those.

thanks, and I was able to change the carbs over to net carbs so it automatically figures that out for me, which helps alot!

I recommend looking up recipes for roasted radishes. They are an amazing red potato substitute and are delicious

I love cauliflower mash, loaded cauliflower, grilled caulisteaks. The possibilities are endless. Zucchini is great too!! Its a process, you have to get used to putting that much fat knowingly into your body. We are all taught to eat less fat, but thats not true for everyone. You will get the hang of it, just be patient with yourself. Everything we do takes time to learn. Also, you can set your preferences to show net carbs, I have mine set up that way.

Keep up the efforts and keep trying things until you find the combo that fits your life. Don't straight jacket yourself with the thought have having to eat this or that. Focus on the overall concepts. Perhaps consider cooking/adding MCT oil or the like. I find its a good source of healthy fats without the feeling you are consuming a bunch of fat.
