Hi Peeps

Thinking of getting one of those monitors that tell you how many steps you do per day..... I'm not very electronically minded so just need a good reliable basic model that doesn't need too much programing, any feedback would be so appreciated..... also do they tell you how many miles you cycle on your bike?

I’ve started out with a steps app on my phone.. it encourages me to keep moving, but then I forget to carry the phone 😊

I have a free app on my Android phone called Simply Walking it tracks distance, shows how many steps and calories burned. I have also used it when cycling. You also get a map of where you have been. Very easy to use, and free!

I use Stava for my bike. It gives lots of detailed information if you want it but does show the basics and route cycled. It’s an app on my iPhone.

Hi GG & MR..... I don't think that my phone is Android? On my phone I only send texts and take Pics, its my OH's cast off mobile cos he now has one of these spanking brand new ones that does everything except making a cup of strong black coffee, I will have to ask him if this phone can except a steps app.....thanks

I use an app on my phone called moves. It works great for me. Good luck finding whatever works for you.

You normally need a smartphone for an activity monitoring app while cycling etc. although most basic bands will display steps once setup with its app via a smartphone, I use the mi-band 2 with an android phone which has a heart rate monitor built in, it also uses GPS tracking within its app for cycling which gives a more accurate calorie burn.

Thanks peeps will collar the OH to show me what I can do with my phone..... The other thing I wanted to know was does the carbzone tortillas taste OK or is it just like eating cardboard?, I found a store near me that sells them they're a bit expensive but will they be worth my while to give them a try?

I use the carbzone tortillas and they're pretty good compared with standard flour ones. Fairly flexible and long lasting although they have a tendency to stick together in the pack if they get squashed. I sometimes use them as a quick pizza base - throw cheese, meat and some veg/herbs/spices on top then grill until the cheese has melted. It works OK. You're right though - they're expensive compared with normal ones but if you really like wraps as I do then it's a small sacrifice to stay low carb.

Thanks P will give them a whirl, have been without bread now for quite a while now and I do love a wrap, the idea of turning them into a pizza will suit me down to the ground
