I just have to share! My husband went in for a job interview this morning and got the job! It wasn't a situation of "I need this job" but more or less that he's not happy where he's at and decided to start looking around. He had no pressure to find a job, which makes job hunting a bit easier. Through the friend of a friend he heard about this job. We had almost given up on it as it's been about a month since he submitted his application. However, yesterday, unexpectedly, they called him and asked if he could come in to interview. They offered him the job on the spot!!
I'm so relieved and excited! This will free up his weekends and give us better family time! He's been working every Sunday since our daughter was born. And, recently, his current employer told him he'd have to start working both Saturday and Sunday. I was rather bummed about that.
This new job of his will also benefit me, weight wise, as he will be starting work later in the day and coming home later in the day. This helps me because it takes that self inflicted feeling I give myself of "I need to get home to be with hubby". Because I do this to myself, I tend to hurry through my workouts. Not having to worry about rushing home to be with hubby will allow me time, after work, to go for walks with my daughter, go exercise at the gym, and eat healthy dinners without hubbies "bad" influence. lol Don't get me wrong. He doesn't purposefully try to influence me to eat poorly, it's just that he tries to help with dinner and prepares things that aren't exactly my first choice for losing weight. I'm a "yes" person so never turn down his help.
The other HUGE benefit is that I will now be able to sleep all the way through the night without interrupted sleep. For the past 8 years, I've gotten up with my husband around 2am, (when he gets up to get ready for work) to make his lunch and coffee for him. I guess it was my way of showing him my appreciation for the hours that he works to support our family! lol Being able to sleep through the night, now, will help me be able to get up earlier in the mornings and not rush around before dashing out the door. I might even be able to conjur up the gumption to go for morning walks around our local lake! I miss doing that! I stopped doing that when my daughter was born.
Anyway, in thinking about his new job, I can see all sorts of positives that will be good for all of us. I'm excited, especially, that he will FINALLY have weekends free to go exploring and do fun things together as a family!
God answered my prayers and I'm so pleased!
Just had to share!

I'm happy for you. I remember a while ago you were afraid there was a problem with the previous job, but that it had been resolved. It's best to lie low and to pay special attention to human relations when one enters a new environment. Good luck to you both!
