Feeling mega proud of myself .. I have just walked 1.5 miles across the beautiful cliffs from Broadsands Beach to Elbury Cove. Walking, as I'm sure my friend Maria (who has been with me on many pleasant yet very short, slow, lumbering walks) will confirm, has been an issue for me for the last 10 years or so thanks to my bad back, arthritic (?) hips & knees and my very badly swollen left calf and when I do walk it's always level ground only and with plenty of seats ... so a walk across cliffs with a couple of slopes to climb was a huge challenge ... but I did it! my calf is now killing me but I'm determined to try and manage a short walk at least every other day now .... you coming Maria???

And the more walking I do combined with the more weight I lose, the more walking I'll be able to do .... that's my theory anyway!

Thankyou i am proud of myself. Might not seem a long walk to some people but it was a huge marathon for me! So lucky to have the lovely cliffs and beaches of the South Devon coast about a mile away from my house.

I know your pain - so well done. It’s better to get exercise in while the weather is warm on your bones . I’m with you on flat walks but I can do inclines. Less weight on our joints is bound to do good!
