I should clarify. My hubby’s diabetes is back, not the weight. He is skinnier than ever. Eats A LOT but cannot gain weight. He wants help. You are him sound awful and he’s not. His health is a great concern. Works out, could clean up His diet a bit but that’s not easy when you are sooooo hungry all the time. What are his options? He’s soooo skinny everywhere we go friends ask him what’s wrong. He’s six feet tall and looks like death! He truly looked better with extra weight. It’s not ALL about being skinny!!! 😞 

Seems my husband keeps losing no matter how much he eats. CICO means nothing in his world!  

We had a swimmer last year lose a lot of weight and almost died in the hospital. They learned he was Type 1 diabetic and in full blown DKA. He lost weight over several weeks. They misdiagnosed the flu or mono, discharged, never thinking he was dumping ketones like crazy. Ultimately he was sent(airlifted) to a second hospital and survived. Maybe your husband's diabetes is Type 1 and not 2. Autoimmune versus metabolic. A urine strip test will be a good indicator for the ketone levels he is discharging. I'm not a doctor but watching a young man almost die was eye opening for all us in the swimming community.  

My above comments aren't intended to scare anyone. The swimmer referenced above is now 16 and swimming in meets again. Ultimately, he has a proper diagnosis and is fine and manages his insulin. Great kid, crappy situation but is moving forward. 

He is under a great doctors care. But I’m worried. And I appreciate your concern. Diabetes is no laughing matter. And he is type 2, but I am starting to wonder... 

Keyten, as for pop (I’m Canadian 😂), Rosio said she drinks one can every day.  

Good! Wifey9707 I am glad to hear he is diagnosed. On a different note, no soda in our house. We have Izzi drinks which the cat wouldn't drink. 

Ohhhhh you have family here?! Interesting...where? So curious!! And yes it’s pop! Ha! Or ‘drinks’ in my culture. First time I asked my hubbys grandfather if he wanted some drinks...he nearly passed out, knowing we are born again Christians and do not drink alcohol, he thought I meant alcohol and was shocked!!!! Too funny, I really meant pop/soda. What’s your thoughts on diet pop? Surely you mean the regular sugar saturated stuff made you a diabetic, correct? I know the diet stuff is filled with chemicals but do you ever drink it? 

Wifey, it's strange, because you can reverse type 2 diabetes by changing your lifestyle (diet and exercise) and Type 1 diabetes has no cure 😞 

I really hope your husband gets better soon. 🙏 

When I was obese I never ever used to drink soda  

I used to drink Agua’s de horchata, Jamaica, tamarindo, ice tea, etc loaded with sugar 😋 

Now with my new woe I felt the need to find a replacement and Diet Coke it is. I need something different than water for my lunch.  

I started drinking diet only after I lost the weight 😋 

I hated soda cause growing up in Mexico most people are so addicted to it, and they are poor poor poor but they won’t eat unless they got a coke. I didn’t want to be like them  

Pobres y delicados 😰 poor and picky 😒 Truly annoying people 🙃 I n don’t think I am, if there’s no diet I don’t make a big deal out of it  

Thanks Keilin!! We get the docs final word today regarding his job etc. It’s stressful! I’m praying and trusting God and know that all things work together for good to those who love God. And yes strange, he did reverse type 2 fir several years. It’s recently that it’s returned. I guess type two can change to one? That’s my fear...yet no crazy stuff like a type one. It’s very puzzling. And worrisome.
