From December to February, I trained for a 10k. I am happy to report that I trained every week, got up to 4 miles, and then listened to my body when it asked me to slow down. I got a nerve injury from running 10Ks and half marathons a couple of years back. I thought that nursing it for 3-4 years should have fixed it, and I learned my lesson. It's not really a good a idea to should your own body out of injury, as it has its own recovery timeline. Lol. But, even though I got some push back, I did not throw in the towel. I was kind to my body, and did the 5k run instead of the 10k run. It was exhilarating being out there! I had forgotten how much I enjoy participating in races, and this brought it all back. I finished my 5k, got my medal, and can now post this in celebration. :)

And now I am taking a fitness break in admiration of my feat.

Nice!!! I like running as well. But I am keeping it manageable I hope. Hope you can recover from your injury totally one day

Omg, me too, liv001. I would love to actually run again as well. Even for the 5 k, I was only able to run half of it, and split up in parts. I miss being able to just run for miles and miles on end. But yes, hopefully I can recover. I've been crossing my fingers and will continue crossing them and hoping for recovery.
