Day 8 away & home tonight. I'm having very mixed feelings as I get ready to fly home this afternoon. I certainly feel the need to get back to my hubby (& pets :), my routine, & my friends & family back home, but am sad to leave my Mom, family & close friends here. I'm also just not feeling great -- still some stomach issues, headaches, chills. Yesterday, luckily, Mom went to her seniors lunch/card playing group so I had time to do her laundry & get her apartment in order, plus get some rest. Not sure if it's the flu (please no & hopefully not since I am feeling a bit better today), & it could be a blessing in disguise as I've had problems in the past with sugar cravings/binging when flying home from Mom. Again, I'm sure it was my way of stuffing down my emotions over leaving & while I continue to feel stronger than anytime in the recent past, I'm also still nauseous enough to not be craving anything!

So, will get to a light workout this morning, packed up & spend a last hour or so with Mom before I head to the airport. She's then spending the afternoon with her man friend. (My Dad passed 16 years ago & she's spent time with Jim for the last 10 years or so. Unfortunately, recently, he's had to stop driving & moved to be closer to his children which is much farther from Mom so she only sees him periodically. But, I'm glad she'll have the distraction this afternoon as she's always sad when I leave too.). And as the emotions arise today (& I know they will), I will continue to pray, log, journal & breathe as I take care of myself today more than ever one day, meal, moment at a time. Thank you all again for your amazing support during this sometimes wonderful, fun filled, emotional, stressful trip. Xoxox
