I know you really don’t care but I haven’t been around lately. I even stopped logging my food.

On April 8 I recorded a journal entry. I said I was at my lowest weight in 15 years. I was expecting a record of support. Not only did I not receive one comment no one even clicked the support button. To say I was sad is really an understatement. I felt that I had made “FRIENDS”. But just like the real world I was expecting to much and was let down.

Not your problem I don’t even know why I am telling you now, I feel like I’m being a big baby but I do feel better. I am changing my setting and I will only be logging my food.

I missed you. It can be hard on the board. Most people check in in the morning so if you post later in the day it can be over looked. Also fatsecret does a poor job of alerting people when friends post... Did you see my posts? Hope you are doing well.

Congratulations on your achievement! Unless someone is following you, or a person that they are following comments on your post, it may not show up on their newsfeed. FS doesn't really do that great of a job at putting the most relevant things in the Featured feed either. Others may have too many "friends" to go through all the posts. Just like with any social media forum, I personally think it's better to rely on our relationships outside of FS. At the end of the day, as great as this online community is, we barely even know more than half of anyone's names, where they are from etc. People will come and go, I suspect, once they reach their goal. I'd take it all with a grain of salt, keep logging, and use the forum if you have questions or need suggestions for overcoming challenges.

I have to say that this is the first time I have seen your picture and bio. But certainly, if it is not working for you just do the food log and let the rest go. Good luck on your tourney.

I have to fish through days and days, then I might see posts from today or yesterday. not sure why the post are not in time, day order all the time. I really try to like and comment to everyone especially if something positive or milestone. I was going to ask if I have to buy the membership... sorry, I am sure it's not personal hon... I don't know if anyone even follows me, I just post for me not for a response..

@Ccrai22...when someone makes a comment or pushes support button on a post, it gets moved to the top.

Yes, Keyten77, I noticed, too, that the setting for "Show activity from:" at the top of the "Recent Activity" page sometimes switches unbidden to "Featured" instead of my usual "Following." @Nana Ellen, April 8th may have been one of those days. It was not deliberate or personal, certainly. I hope you'll reconsider and continue to share your journey.

I am also a newbie. I didn't understand that people could see my journal. People did comment, I found out later. I appreciate their support. I am doing this for me. When I step on the scale and it is not going up, that is enough for me. I was seeing a nutritionist who is also a PA for a while. She truly was my cheerleader. When my co-pay doubled and I finally got some relief from some gastro issues, I decided to take a break from the appointments which had went to $50.00 to get on a scale that I wanted to talk ugly to and sit and speak with the doctor. (Although I give her all the credit to getting me to the correct doctor for my GI issues and also a greater awareness of the rise in my BP, that sent me back to my GP for some changes.) I am a stress eater from the get go and after losing my only child (39) 18 months ago, she had been sick for a while, I didn't care about anything. Another doctor has gotten me back on track with depression/anxiety issues, new meds for that, and I am slowly getting off the couch more and not crying as much. I found my self going down the road in my truck today, I actually got out on my own for a change, and the crocodile tears just started flowing down my face and I had to remove my glasses. It doesn't help much that Mother's Day is right around the corner and of course when I walked into my destination store, there it all is everywhere. Just writing about it the tears have started down the cheeks again. I am going to lose the weight that I need to, regardless of whether someone acknowledges it or not. My daughter got hooked on prescription pain pills after having undergone gastric bypass surgery. Her doctor didn't just leave his practice, he left the country. She lost the weight, she was beautiful, she had the lifts and tucks, and went through all of that, but she developed peptic ulcers at the entrance to her too small of a pouch, that was not reversible. She went to the best hospital in our state 150 miles away by ambulance more than once. They tried transfusions, infusions, a feeding tube that ruptured and she was in ICU for 11 days sepsis, MRSA, just to name a few. Back to our home town and 2 IV poles with 14 antibiotics hanging from them. She had over 25 EGD's in one 12 month period trying to stop the bleeding. It was very very Sad. All of this did not happen overnight 3 failed marriages after the surgery. She modeled 2 piece bathing suits for a designer at a local show at our beach. But she passed just 6 months prior to her younger son's high school graduation. She has since missed her older son's graduation from college and him beginning his first job in his major. She missed her younger son graduating 12th in a class of over 500 students and receiving multiple awards at his Honor's Program or his introduction of the guest speaker at his Baccalaureate service. He was an officer in four different Honor Societies and a member of his Student Council, his picture hangs in the hall of his school as a member of the academic Hall of Fame. He was awarded an outstanding scholarship to an out of State University in their Honors College. He spent his first year living on campus in the Honors Dorm. His first semester grades included 2 A+, 2 A's, and for him a disappointing A-. Of course his Honor's courses and service hours will help over all. His long term goal is Law School. I could not be prouder to be his grandma. I can do this. I was not overweight until after she had the surgery. She lost 150 pounds and I gained 110. Grief does not go away, it still rears its head on occasion. They say that grief is the expression of the love that has no where to go. I am going to let go of these pounds that I have gained and live my life to the fullest. It is something that I have to do for me.

Hey Nana, never saw that post. Congrats. FS got wonky a few years back in terms of notifications and now all I get in my emails is you have a new follower and also I no longer get notifications on the top of the page like I was used to. I maybe repeating a prior comment but I am not willing to read every striking comment because I am at work and need to limit my time here. You are doing this for you and never forget this. Congrats again and onward. - Ches

Hey Nana, I didn't see your post. I don't see most of my posts on here either.
03 mai 19 por membro: dboza
For some reason FS doesn’t show us all posts. There will be days I don’t see a post from anyone I know and others that I see from just a few people but tons of them for the last week or more. Some days I only see posts from strangers who speak different languages. It really should be fixed. I too only get new follower emails. I have to go to each persons journal to see their latest posts and I don’t have time for that with so many ‘friends’ I want to check in with. Congrats on your lowest weight in 15 years. That’s a huge accomplishment!
