So I'm trying to be honest with myself. Been going through a major depressive moment for the past couple months. Tons of shit to handle. Trying to eat normally but it's hard, I feel nauseated for the most part. But I guess I am getting better because it's my first feminine dress... that I ordered online of course (anxiety in crowded places, food is the only thing I don't buy online actually). And it's not black!! I mostly wear black/pants, it's my uniform. Buying a colourful feminine dress is really something! I feel weird and share this here as part of my therapy. I am preparing myself, will I get to leave my house wearing this ? Does anyone else here struggle with autism/depression/anxiety? Especially females? How do you deal with it?

You look very nice. The dress was a good choice for you. I think that getting out of the house and dealing with other people is going to have to be a learned activity for you Practice, practice. May I ask how old you are and whether you live on your own or a home with family. I don’t mean to be particularly nosy, it just helps to have a little information on your audience.

Congratulations on the new dress! That's a good step and it shows you really know yourself and you have a nice style, because it's a beautiful dress and you look gorgeous in it. Thank you for sharing with us and good for you on taking steps in getting out there. I do understand how easy it is to just stay home.

Sometimes watching comedy helps me when I'm feeling down.

You got this! We are our own worse critics. Autism, yes my son just turned 16 and is awesomely autistic, he is the most genuine person I know and I have learned a lot from him. I think its individuality not a disability. Depression? I would have a discussion with your medical doctor. I assume your Canadian by the spelling of some words, if so, you have a very good medical system there which is very inclusive and understanding depression. Hang in there. You picked out an awesome dress.

@shiny, thanks for sharing your experience. I suffer from PTSD. I see a therapist too, usually doing 1xweek at least 10 weeks. And then I change because I can't get to open up properly. I've been on and off since at least 10 years. And I stopped taking medication last year. I feel better now but sometimes it's harder to handle. It's very hard for me to share my feelings and a little something can block everything. My last job was a bit complicated, I was half export sales rep, half communications manager. Now I know I can't do business development because I am too anxious to cold call (it wasn't planned but the role somehow changed and I ended up doing up this shit). In a way I am happy I failed that probation!

I have mild agoraphobia, anxiety, depression. I only leave my house to go to work. started this new job in September and the panic attacks were severe enough that I had to change meds around until I got used to my new surroundings and interaction with new people. all my shopping, even groceries, gets done online. but I live in a decent size city where instacart is an option. even if you don't go out in your new dress, you're beautiful, and you can enjoy it in the privacy of your home just as much as going out in it.

@Kenna, don't worry, it's ok to ask. I started this myself anyway. I am 39 in couple weeks. I live on my own, shared custody tho, so I have my 8yo kid 2 nights per week + every other weekend. I can't have him all the time anyway as he explodes my brains out. He is also a complicated child but in a different way, a hyper suffering from dyslexia, dyspraxia and dysgraphia. I don't have enough patience and tend to "close myself", explaining things annoys the hell out of me.
