One of the core lessons that the Prevent T2 Diabetes class had was in recognizing advertising cue's that lead to overeating (or eating the wrong foods). It caught me last night and I realize it today how powerful those messages are. Before I started this journey, I loved Papa Murphy's pizzas. I had them at least once a week. Once I started tracking, it was obvious how many cal's it was adding to my diet, so I made it a special treat, for only a couple of times a year.

Last night, my bride and I went to a movie. Afterward, we drove past the Papa Murphy's and my mind went to the $10 Pizza Tuesday ad, so I suggested we get one (which we did). After cooking and eating, I went to the tracker and entered that pizza. Wow, over 1000 cal's just like that.... It was then that I recognized that if it were not for the repeated exposure to the $10 Tuesday Ad, I problably would have not even thought about the pizza and would have prepared a home cooked meal with much better nutritional value. Lesson re-learned.

Good luck to all my Fat Secret friends!
