Enjoy your meal, I do not eat beef, so always lamb is my choice, you can make wonderful recipes of minced lamb. Kofta with tahini, potato slices and onions😋

Saw your picture yesterday and inspired me to make meatballs 👍 - my question to you all: how do you effectively count calories for home made food? Thanks

Bejukacska, I create recipes in my cookbook by weighing the ingredients as I cook, then designate number of servings. I weigh the entire meal when it is completed ( by dishing it out into containers) to get a weight per serving. I know this sounds like a lot of trouble, but it works for me.

❤️🤗 I go by the ground meat and then I sometimes use the palm tile to measure ounces of meat. Bonus I have doll hands so there’s that. I typically will log it by per meatball. Sometimes you get choices. I try to make mine a small or medium size.

Measure by ounces using my palm.

Bejukacska...during weight loss I measured what I made on the scale. I did not include spices. This can get time consuming depending how elaborately you cook. If you are short on time, you can write down on a piece of paper as you go and log later at night. Or, you can use the hand method. You can also pre-log your meal if you know a certain recipe you will use beforehand and adjust later if some thing changed. You can also determine a way to define serving sizes (e.g. 1/2 cup = 1 serving cooked vegetables). I follow the DASH serving sizes, which makes it considerably easier, but I did not do that until I was in maintenance.
