Well--I have been completely faithful to Phase 1 for the past 3 days now (except for the fruit, 1 clementine per day at most, which I just refuse to give up 'cause it tastes sooo good), and I feel better. Much to my fiancee's happiness I am less moody, and I actually went immediately to the gym after work today. I was looking forward to a long workout with some work on the weight machines, but unfortunately they were closing at 6, and I didn't get there until 5:30. The gym-time would have been pleasant if it hadn't been for the fit little thing that hopped up on the treadmill next to mine and wasn't just walking fast--oh, no, she couldn't be satisfied with that--but was running! RUNNING! Now, I realize she was just trying to squeeze her workout in too and not intentionally trying to make me feel self-conscious, but I couldn't help but wonder if her breezy litheness (I hate litheness) made my red-faced, pudgy puffing a little more noticeable. I'll really be glad when I realize that I can't be ticketed for treadmilling-while-tubby, and that I have as much right to be in the gym as THEY do, and that, as my mother told me, nobody's looking at me anyway!

Now we're coming into the evening hours, still have to cook dinner (we're having veggie-beef stir fry, no rice for me) and then I'll be ready for a couple hours in front of the TV enjoying an activity I am almost as passionate about as exercise (y'see, if I convince myself that I AM passionate about exercise, then maybe it will come true!), scrapbooking. And as I work on my scrapbook, I will be encouraged to not snack because I'm getting tired of scrapping pictures of everyone else since I refuse to be photographed at my current weight. Although, now that I think about it--I may just start insisting on having pics of me taken, just so that I can remember what I used to look like, 'cause if I keep at like I have over the past few days this big body will be a distant memory!

sounds like you are doing good...just something to think about...during phase: to detox yourself, you really do need to follow it exactly...or realize that the weight loss will be slower and harder...one of the hardest things for me to give up was my oj every morning...i had been doing this for 15 years or better...after giving it up for 2 weeks...i now realize that it triggered cravings all morning long...now if i have any it is after 3 pm...you might want to consider 10 days or so of a "true" phase 1...email me if you have any questions...

Yep! I've got to second the motion Veggies Yuk made about Phase I. No fruit. No bread. No rice. No potatoes. Basically you eat lean meat and lots of vegetables. I have been having small curd cottage cheese as part of Phase I. Now that I THINK about it - I believe even cottage cheese is a no-go. The term "DE-TOX" is right on the money. As for the gym - just do your own thing Doll Baby! Work out "in the zone" and become oblivious to others around you. Don't worry about Miss Slim-Gym. It's a free country and you BOTH have a right to exercise side by side. Keep the faith!
