Hey everyone! I know it's been a while since I updated this, so I think it's time I explain what's going on with me. Last week, my workout buddy got really sick. I somehow, miraculously, didn't get sick *knocks on wood*, but at the same time, I felt sluggish as my body was fighting the germs. To top everything off, last Thursday, my body caved in due to exhaustion. I'd been doing Insanity for 2.5 weeks, and my 'days off' weren't really days off. So, I decided to rest. However, I didn't eat right, because when I feel tired and sick, I relapse and don't eat right. It's my fault, and I paid for it with gaining back a couple of pounds.

Sunday, my workout buddy was feeling well enough to do Hip Hop Abs, and even though it's nowhere near Insanity, it was definitely good to get the blood pumping. However, we then decided that pizza was a good idea *face palm*

On Monday, I got my new apartment, so I spent most of the day moving my stuff, cleaning, and then resting. Moving is always stressful for me, because even if I'm not the one physically moving everything (we had movers, thank goodness), I still am basically in limbo and have no place to call my own yet since I'm in the process of leaving what used to be 'my place' and I haven't had time to settle into 'my new place.' This results in poor sleep and poor eating habits. I have been lifting and moving my own stuff, and unloading boxes, which is expelling energy. But since I'm at the mercy of other people's schedules, it's really hard to follow the 5 meal a day Insanity plan.

I know I'm making excuses, but I am still super tired and I will be for another couple of days.

So, here's the final conclusion (and thanks to everyone who made it this far!): I talked it over with my workout buddy, and since the rest of the summer is going to be broken up with vacations and various other distractions, we're going to modify Insanity so that we can keep doing the workouts in some capacity. We're going to aim to do the 3 major cardio workouts with Insanity (Plyo, Pure Cardio, Power and Resistance) and we're going to mix in Cardio Recovery and core cardio and balance. Also, once I settle down, I'll just make sure I reduce my calories for my days off and days of reduced activity.

It sucks because I'm not a quitter, but I'm beginning to realize that I think Insanity is too tough for me in my current state of fitness. I was improving, so I want to keep doing the exercises, but I don't think I can keep going full steam ahead. I'm going to try to record my food and exercise more again as well, so if anyone has any helpful tips, I'm willing to hear them! Thanks for reading! You all inspire me!

Just because you're scaling back to a more reasonable level doesn't make you a quitter. I commend you for pulling back a little. You're not quitting altogether, and that's what most people would do in you're situation. It's what I would do, and then I'd be right back at square one. You can do this Hokie. Failure is not the opposite of success, it is part of success.

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys :) Also, I like the quote at the end Tiffa5ny! I'm going to definitely take it slightly easier from now on! After this whole move is over, I can't wait to get back into it!
