ps ..... Hubbies just made me laugh he reckons the weight that I'm at now I should be 7ft tall, so all I've got to do is stand in my compost heap every day for a year to achieve it .... Ha Ha !!!
03 mai 20 por membro: Maggy May
Hahahahaha - oh Maggy - I feel the same - I am my ideal weight if I was 7 ft 9 inches!!! Hadnt thought of the compost heap option though. Perhaps I need to give that a try next. Save the anguish of trying not to eat all the wrong things when I start feeling low and want to give in (and so often do) I like your hubby's sense of humour. SPent the day baking - sugar-free scones; sugar and flour-free chocolate cake; sugar-free almond slices....and a loaf of bread. Now got dinner in the oven - (very) lean steak casserole and a load of veg with one BIG sin - roast potatoes.... Ah well, it's Sunday (I think, or is it Friday, or Tuesday who knows and who cares?) Keep smiling lovely lady.

Hi ChrisFGL9 Snap, we're having steak and veg tonight too ..... How Spooky is that!! ..... I Love baking, can I get those naughty but nice recipes on the old tinternet? They sound really great and I presume low in calories, for a treat especially when I've shed a few pounds ..... if it wasn't for the day, date and time in the corner of my computer I wouldn't know whether I was on this earth or Fullers ..... MM x

Hahaha - they are indeed from t'internet. The almond and chocolate cake is from BBC website - I just replaced the sugar with artificial (I bought a big bag of Erythritol from Amazon a while ago). Scones I just used Saint Delia's recipe and again replaced the sugar (guessed how much to use - but it worked). The cherry/almond tray bake was off the back of Whitworth's Semolina box (half semolina and half ground almonds is required) I will post the reipe when I get a chance to copy it if you like - once again replaced the sugar..... Not all super healthy recipes but take out the sugar and the cals/carbs drop dramatically. I love to bake and the one thing I will always hold against my Dad is that I was never encouraged in my love of cooking when I was looking at a career. He had his idea of what I should do and pushed me that way. Mind you I went to an all-boys school so 'cooking' was for girls and frowned upon for us blokes. Oh those wonderful days in the mid-seventies when sexism was so rife! As for Fuller's.... BREWERY !!! Ah a lady after my own heart! That is what you meant isn't it? *grin*

Ahhhhh You know me to well already ...... What is this thing when people think males should do this and women should do that, I accept everyone for just who they are, special individuals that should be encouraged to pursue their dreams as you rightly know, it wouldn't do for us all to be the same ..... I wanted to be a car mechanic or a landscape gardener and my parents said that's not what girls do, load of Bl***y Nonsense ..... I let all my kids follow their Hearts and I never interfered, they made mistakes Yes of course, but I was there to help as and when needed..... Please forward recipes to me as and when U can, no need to rush ..... Hope you and Hubby have a lovely meal and a good Evening ..... MMx

Aw Maggy you sound like such a positive person, you’ve totally got this! You will do it :)

Hi FatKat6 I hope so ...... when you get older it gets much harder to shed those excess pounds ..... Winter makes me go into what I call human hibernation mode ..... This year was the wettest and dullest ever recorded so being stuck indoors for most of the time was my biggest downfall ...... on goes the heating, the goggle-box blaring away showing films and box sets nearly all the day, my old faithful computer ready to surf the web and play mind boggling addictive games, and when I'm really bored I bake which leads to tasting whatever I've made ..... Thank God For Spring ..... My Garden is my salvation, I can be out there nearly all the day, I forget time but most of all I forget to eat, I'm always so busy, busy, busy ..... Last week I built a dry wall 20 ft plus long 4 bricks high, my next project I'm building a raised bed using railway sleepers, If it was warm and sunny all the time I know I would still be biggish, but not too overweight ..... Maggie to kickstart a few LBs loss you should try for 2 weeks everydat eating oats for breakfast with a little ginger in it and your eggs n spinach (no bread or salt) then natural low fat yoghurt with fruit for lunch then chicken salad or chicken and rice with veg for dinner....focus is on no bread no sugar no salt for 2 weeks and oats with ginger every morning...in 2 weeks you will notice firstly your face slimming...nice meeting you here 🖐

Hi Debsdabomb Funny enough I was running out of ideas of what to have for my breakfast today, do you use milk for the oats or just water and is the ginger fresh or powdered ??..... I have already cut bread out of my regime for a few days now, but salt, I hadn't considered, if you're not using salt for flavour what do you use ? Thanks for the above info, most appreciated ..... It might be the way to kick start my body into losing some weight ...... MM x

Ps what is a normal portion of dry oats in grams for one person?
04 mai 20 por membro: Maggy May
Hi Maggie, I use Quaker Oats sachets and they have 27g in them as they fill me up now but you can have more and with semi skinned milk...use semi skinned milk in everything for the 2 weeks...i grate a small piece of fresh ginger but if its not available use powder...the ginger will clean out your insides helping your body process all foods much better which will help with the entire weight loss journey...i honestly thought i would struggle with no salt as it is my downfall i salt everything but i switched to a variation of pepper...onion granules...garlic granules...chives granules...i use these in different meals...i put each of them on a chicken breast and steam it or put it in the oven in foil...you could add some honey over it first too...just ideas...and as i said...for yoghurt i switched to natural low fat yoghurt and added my own fresh fruits to it...you can add some raspberries or strawberries to your oats after the 2 weeks if you want to continue on oats...

P.S. 27g of Oats with semi skimmed milk is 180 calories

Oops, think I went a little overboard, had 40g of oats, used half milk and half water but the good thing was I only used skimmed milk, very tasty, very filling ..... just had some mixed salad for lunch with 43g of smoked salmon which I sprinkled with onion powder & ginger powder and a shake of balsamic vinegar instead of salad cream ..... never thought I could eat a salad without salt but I did and I enjoyed it!!! ..... Thanks ..... MMx

40g is fine Maggie...if you dont like prepping fresh fruit you can buy packs of frozen fruit
04 mai 20 por membro: Debsdabomb
Hi Debs Going out to buy food today not been out for nearly 10 days very limited to what I've got in that's fresh and my fridge is looking a little bare..... I'm going to fill the fruit bowl to the top with what ever I can lay my hands on, and maybe find some fresh ginger ..... Is it OK to have a little honey in my tea or should I try sweeteners?? ..... I will be giving up my Greek yogurt and changing it to fat free ..... I've got to give this my best shot .....MM x

Sounds brilliant Maggy...be safe...I use Hermasetas as they are a 0 everything sweetener...0 calories 0 carbs etc...but you can use honey...another thing you can do is make a honey and ginger hot drink with 2 lemon chunks in it...you can leave the ginger out...i know it sounds bland but good for you...you can maximize the whole cleane and weight loss by drinking at 2 - 3 litres of water per day.
