I really don't come on here just to whine. lol! I just seem to have a bad stroke of luck lately with vehicles. My car got totalled a few weeks ago by a cow and the cow owner and his insurance are not going to pay. So I had a 95 4x4 Suburban and the rear end went out on it a few months ago and I paid $780 to have it re-built. Well it has only been home 5 days and now it is tearing up again. We called the guy and he is out of town till Monday. So now we are down to the little Rio again. I swear that car is like the Energizer Bunny. Knock on Wood!!! Sure it has problems but it gets me from A to B. So good news - Other than Algebra I am making straight A's! Yay! I went to Goodwill last night and found some good deals on kids clothes and a few shirts for myself. There were no jeans. I found some cute ones in size 26 - go figure - when I was that big I couldnt find anything but there were a ton of cute size 18's and now that I am an 18 all I find is bigger stuff. I can't wait to get to about a size 12 or 14 - there was a ton to choose from in those sizes. I was good yesterday. Made it through the day without cheating and I am going to do it again today. I have always wanted to write - as in a book. I think I may take a creative writing class next semester if they offer one. I am loving school. :D

Hi Amanda, I see from your profile you lost 70 lbs in about 5 months - is that correct? We have very similar weight loss goals - both of us want to be 150 & I started in August 10 lbs heavier than you in May. Wondering what you're eating and how many net carbs you eat. Did moving to OWL slow you any? Any tips/advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - you're doing so well!!

Hi Alexandra! Good to hear from you. I am glad you are still doing well also. We have always been about the same weight it seems. Well I have been a slacker lately but I refuse to get stuck at 215. Sophie - Yes, I have lost about 70 lbs in about 5 months.... actually you could say I lost it in 4 months. I have weighed the same now for over a month because of cheating on the weekends. Moving into owl didnt really slow me down. Naturally I lost the most during my first 2 weeks but I guess you could say I have always done owl. I have had nuts since the beginning. I eat a handfull of almonds and peanuts as my breakfast snack and I eat whole wheat tortillas and bread almost daily. Lets see.... tips..... drink that water - I get at least 80 oz a day but try to get more. It seems like if I get at least 32-40 oz in during lunch it fills me up. Avoid diet or zero sodas. I have the crystal light packets or the great value brand ones that I add to my water but I try to keep them at less than 3 a day. Avoid Atkins products. Sure that Atkins bar SAYS only 3 net carbs but have you looked on the back and done the math yourself? I dont know how they come up with those numbers but they dont add up. The diet drinks and Atkins bars slow me way down. Oh you know what else I eat and love - peanut butter. I love to get that Natures Own whole wheat double fiber bread, toast it and put peanut butter on top. Super yummy. I realize alot of people can't tolerate some foods so what I would do is try one thing for a week and see how it affected me. If I still lost I knew I was pretty tolerant of that type of carbs. I seem to have more trouble with dairy than wheat. I think everyone is different. I used to love eating those sugar free Jello pudding cups - not the gelatin but the actual pudding and it seemed to slow me down too. Oh and one more tip - you can't have "just one bite". That is the kiss of death for me. That is how I have been sabbotaging my weekends. One cheetoe won't hurt, one bite of cereal won't hurt - well before you know it I have eaten the whole bag. I do better just avoiding those foods all together. When I have a sweet tooth in the afternoons I have coffee with sweet n low & heavy whipping cream. If I am on the go I have a piece of sugar free gum or some sugar free hard candy. Good Luck! If I can help I will - but I am not an expert by far. Lol!
