Haha terrible chestnut! I don’t drink so luckily I can’t be tempted 😋 and Tania sometimes I do! But this morning I just fried them with the 1 calorie spray 🙂

Oh, I see. I don't use the spray as it is toxic. We steam fry the eggs and they turn out really good. Of course nothing beats the flavour and texture of a fried egg but...

Is it toxic? I’ve used it for years.. never had a problem. Also wouldn’t think the shops would sell it if it were toxic 🤪

It is. Oil cannot be sprayed easily. It needs to be mixed with chemicals and those chemicals slowly-slowly build up in our bodies. You can buy a spray bottle, disinfect it, pour some real oil in it and use it to spray your pan. You see see how quickly the nozzle will clog! Still it is better than buying it.

Tania I may have to wait until some credible research has been published before I believe that fully. As someone that’s spent the last 5 years researching science at university.. I only rely on published facts and figures 🙈 Ive done a little research this evening and the only type of credible sources I can find are ones that all show the same results as the European Commission - it was concluded that because of the very low percentages of propane and butane found in cooking sprays, they pose no toxicity risk. There’s plenty of foods out there that contain certain chemicals or ingredients that once scared us as humans. Remember when everyone thought Coca Cola had a deadly chemical in it 😂 doh. Due to very low percentages and very small portion sizes; there’s yet to be any recorded deaths or severe health affects from cooking sprays alone. Trust your body 😋 there’s worse things us humans consume on the daily!!

At least you researched it though the internet can be suppressed and important info hidden. In the old days we used journals at the library. You probably did too at uni. I am a victim of margarine. It took 40 years to realise that we had rarely eaten real butter at home. Margarine was touted to be healthier than butter and after the war was the only thing you got. That and baby formula...I now try to eat more naturally but it is a very hard job because we rely on manufacturing so much! In an ideal world, I wouldn't eat anything not natural. (In an ideal world I would live barefoot in a beach cabin! :) )
