Thanks Nutricali, yes I started sourdough starter about week ago from scratch. This was first bread from still quite weak starter but everyday it will get stronger. (I just need to remember to feed it🙂)

Ah Jazz - I keep thinking about making sourdough starter but I know I will either forget to feed it or more likely just make too much bread cos I love it so much! And home-made butter.... I haven't made that since school days.

It looks great! I’ve not managed to keep an all wholewheat one alive for long in the past. My white one has been hanging on for over a year, having almost died a couple of times 😅

My Mom's tip is - mature sourdough you can keep in fridge and feed just once a week with about 60g flour and 60ml water. To make a bread from it needs to be in room temperature and fed ~6 hours before.

I think I do a similar thing, feeding 1:1:1, 1x/week from the fridge, and I’m going to bake I’ll take it out and feed it 3 times, 12hrs apart before autolyse. When I forgot to feet my wholemeal starter it died so quickly, but the white flour one came back after forgetting for almost a week 😅
