I’m trying really hard to get my portions at a size that’s right for my needs. I think I’ve spent 18months eating like I’m still pregnant (I know I was eating more than I needed during pregnancy too!) whilst constantly feeling frustrated/a little sad that I’m not doing what I need to, to get back to my old size. I’ve very recently realised how much of my eating is very emotionally driven. I’m really hoping to change that so I can reach a weight I feel really confident and healthy with, I miss feeling “light”... that bouncy, everything-in-my-wardrobe-fits (nicely) feeling.
I wonder who else feels like they are an “emotional eater” and how they manage that/change that?

Definitely feel you there! Being an emotional eater means having to learn how to refocus during low points but eating healthy, sleeping well and exercising daily really builds a foundation. B vitamins are a great boost too!

meditation is key for me, I have to keep my mind healthy and my emotions balanced so I do not eat my feelings,,there is not enough food (or wine) in the world to fill the gaps in my heart! well done for recognising ur emotional eating habits so early and reaching out, took me years to figure it out ♥️

Exercise helps I find - I think there’s “an emotional eater element” in all of us to +/- degree

Thanks for sharing folks. Meditation is something I’ve done on and off, but it’s been ages since I’ve tried! I think I get swept along with family life, having two small kiddos, if I’m not strict about stepping back from the madness and doing something for me, every minute can easily be swallowed up, especially with them home so much this year ☺️ Thanks for all of your kind words and comments everyone x
