I'm back! I've been without an internet connection for more than a week, leaving me out of touch for what seems like forever. I couldn't even use my FatSecret tools and had to stay on track as best I could.

For six days I enjoyed getting my exercise in the Lolo National Forest near Paradise, Montana. Then we moved out of Montana to Rose Lake near Cataldo, Idaho and stayed there two days. We just arrived today in Moscow, Idaho and I was delighted to see I finally have an internet connection here. I have quite a bit of catching up to do.

Here are some pictures I took on my walks this past week.

Photo Description:

1 & 2) These are pictures of the Clark Fork River. The river is named after William Clark, of the Lewis & Clark Expedition.

3) A robber fly (Neoitamus sp.) on tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) flowers.

4 & 5) This is the view I had from my campsite of the Clark Fork River and the surrounding mountains.

6) A Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos)

7) A Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus)

8) A railroad bridge spanning the Clark Fork River.

9) Montana Highway 135 runs through the Lolo National Forest.

10) While hiking I met a man riding a Tennessee Walker (Equus ferus caballus) and he let me take a picture of him and his horse.

11) This is my Campsite in the Lolo National Forest.

12) A colorful sunset in the Lolo National Forest.

13) This is Rose Lake near Cataldo, Idaho.

14) A sunset for lovers on Rose Lake.

So majestic! I would love to get an RV when I retire; but, knowing me, I'd end up on the ID Channel within the first week.

I'm so glad you like the pictures, davidsprincess. It's so beautiful and spiritually uplifting betting out here. There's certainly a lot less stress in my life since I got out of the "9 to 5" rut. One does have to be mindful of a few things out here though, like being sure to bring enough water, watching out for dangerous wildlife, and not stepping too close to the edge of a cliff. Safety has become our #1 priority out here, because in some places you can't call 911, and even when you can, to get to the hospital in time you may have to ride in a helicopter.

That doesn't sound odd at all, jen.m.gool. It sounds pretty fantastic to me. Thank you! As far as I know I haven't had a picture of mine appear in a magazine, but I'm proud that a picture I took is on Discover Magazine's website. I also have two photos in a Gardening Book, and two others are being used by the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto. 🙂

Thank you, kattay! I'm glad too! I was doing okay without a connection, but I really appreciate having one.

I love being able to totally unplug, but you are right about how we've been conditioned to assume 911 will be there. Stay safe and enjoy your beautiful scenery. True magic.

Beautiful! This is exactly what I had planned to do this year—traveling in my RV and workamping at Yellowstone for the season. It didn’t work out this year but there’s always 2021.

Those eagle shots are amazing!

Thanks, Katsolo! I've already seen a rescue chopper twice since I've been a camper. I wouldn't want to take that ride. With my fear of flying, the ride might be worse for me than whatever injury I sustained.

Don't feel lonely, Peacefultimes11. I had planned to see Devil's Tower and Mt. Rushmore this year, but the virus wrecked my plans. I too am hopeful for 2021. 🤞🍀

Thanks, br_e_co! I was excited to get those shots! When that bald eagle swooped in, I couldn't work the camera fast enough.

I remember Cataldo! Been past there many times. There was a white building, I think a church, on an island out in the lake. Is it still there? We lived in Pinehurst when I was in Jr. High, not far from there. Most people at that time made their living as loggers or miners, or both.
