Thank you, tatauu! I'm making squash soup, so already my day is feeling good! 😁 newnormal, thanks! I love the size and shape of this mug. It just feels good! It is from a local potter who makes and sells his wares out of his garage!

Oh, I love the color of your Jays! It's so intriguing how different our wildlife is in different areas of the country!

those jays are interesting - love those colors. we have the traditional colors here in Cincinnati - are those guys as aggressive and noisy as other jays?

Those are Scrubjays @breco and they are noisy as all get out! Think crow with an attitude. 🤣

Thanks SK. Scrubjays, fascinating. Sounds like they have same disposition as the jays around here.

Thank you so much, Carol! You too! I totally agree, SherryeB! I mean, we are a very long way from you, but there are so many differences in nature all across the continent!

Hey, hey, hey!!!! Neighbor boy, sk!!!! Those beautiful birds aren't "Scrubjays!" Although, they do have a ton of attitude and they are noisy as heck! 😁 They get to be extremely tame. Before I am five feet from the feeder after bringing the peanut "offering," the blue brats are swarming! I have never actually seen a "classic" blue Jay. These lovely birds are all I know! They are seriously hilarious to watch. They pick up one peanut and then another and then another trying to deside which is best. Often they will swallow a whole one into their throat and pick up another to haul away! They will even come back to the feeder with a peanut they just took away to exchange. They certainly are not as smart as crows!

So what do you call them melissa? It ain't no classic East Coast bluejay.

Maybe I should just read melissa's post a little more carefully as she IDs it as a Stellars Jay. 🤦♂️

I blame it on not enough coffee. Late start today. Dang coyotes kept me up all night! 😫😴

Oh wow! Guess we have to excuse you! But, coyotes! Cool! You must have a bit of countryside around you. Our neighbors have a pair of bango playing skeletons. They are motion activated... That is what is waking me up these days! 😁 I'd rather hear coyotes!

nice photos! The only animals my bird feeders seem to attract are squirrels & pigeons lol. Though on occasion I have 1 blue jay looking bird that comes around & some purple chested finches which are pretty adorable.
