Bummer! My blood pressure is up again. I had a banana and a V8 for breakfast, but still it's up. I took one of my pills. 😞

BP looks good to me. What BP are you aiming for?

Hi. Unless you have super strict parameters set by your doctor, this 19 year Trauma/MedSurg/Rehab RN likes your numbers. 😁

I've only been worried because the information I found online said my BP should be 120/80 or less. I feel better after hearing from you guys. Thank y'all so much!

Lonnie— the reading shown on the post is within a normal range but if you are having wide swings it definitely needs to be followed. Do you have a doctor or a healthcare system that you have remote access to? If so I would start there. If not and you plan on continue traveling for a while you have a couple of options. An urgent care center or one of the telehealth sites that have popped up. The first line drug for most BP treatments is a diuretic like lasix, another option is a combo drug combination of a diuretic and a mild BP med. you didn’t say what it is you are taking. The top number is the number that is most related to things like too much sodium, agitation, anxiety, etc. that is the number that diuretic are very useful for. The bottom number is how hard your body has to work to overcome gravity and push the blood from your extremities back to the heart. Diuretic lessen that fluid volume making it easier to push the blood uphill. Certain BP meds help dilate the vessels, easing that resistance.

I read am abstract for research on HBP that concluded15 minutes of stretching per day lowered blood pressure (even more so than walking) .Mine is high also.

What Kenna said ▪︎I wonder if your blood pressure is fluctuating because of your eating/drinking whatever you want for a few days then going back to your healthier WOE until your weight is back in line. Your body may be adjusting to the different food intake.

But, I recommend consulting a doctor.

The suggested ranges for blood pressure have changed. Lonnie you are right to be concerned about your blood pressure. Although your ranges would be considered fine a few years ago, your Systolic is slightly elevated. Here's a link from the American Heart Association chart. I hope this helps everyone... https://www.heart.org/en/health-topics/high-blood-pressure/understanding-blood-pressure-readings

I used to take two medications for my blood pressure. I took a combo pill of Lisinopril (10 mg)/Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg) and the other pill was Amlodipine Besylate (10 mg). The doctor took me off of those medications last March after I lost 75 pounds. Now, when I occasionally see that my blood pressure is over 120/80, I'll take one of the Lisinopril/Hydrochlorothiazide pills, which brings it back down. I'd like to see a doctor, but Covid-19 is running rampant here, so I don't want to go. Nor do I want to go to a lab to get my bloodwork done, which I suspect I'll have to do if I see a doctor via telemedicine.

Thank you, everyone, for all the advice. You've made me feel a lot better. I can't wait for this Covid crap to be over, so I can comfortably go to a doctor again.

That is not high at all! 120/80 to 140/80 is normal Mine is always 140ish...you dont want it to go too low!!

I wouldn't worry at all about 128/76.

MD had you on more than one med cause some for distolic alone. You’re good. Watch if distolic is above 180-185 then may need medicine. But 120 is quite low. Average 140. Can be 140-170 before doctors usually medicate🍀🍀
