I have always lost weight fast in the beginning of a diet. I have been on many different diets before, but just could not stay on it. My shortest diet was for half a day. The cabbage diet. Ran to the shop and bought me a chocolate, directly after the first meal. If you are not ready to make the change mentally, dont even try. You will end up heavier than ever before.

That is basically my story. I have bought allot of healthy living books, read most of them, started, and they end up in the cupboard collecting dust. I never had the reason to really want it, until recently.

My wife has been diagnosed the most severe level of endometriosis(most women knows what it is). We are wanting to have children, and she has to go for her second operation later this month. It grows back so quickly. Because of the condition, and the pills she is using currently, the chances of her falling pregnant is slim to none, while on the drugs. Apart from this there is other complications that is just to difficult to explain. Her one fillopian tube is blocked on top of that. So the chances is quite slim to get pregnant naturally. After the operation, we will be going the IVF route. We can afford to do it only once. My wife has to loose weight for the IVF, and that is where it all started.

Healthy eating is difficult too, but not as difficult as dieting. I am surprised by the quick weight shedding, but I have far to go. I do not exercise at this stage. Too many times before did I combine dieting with exercise, and my knees failed me every time. This time I am trying a different approach.

That's a tough one Nitram. There's nothing quite like an emotional purpose to shed the weight. I wish you both the best of luck with IVF. You might consider, once you've lost the weight, to give the exercise another shot since you'll be lighter and have less weight on the joints. You can start doing easy exercises now to strengthen hip flexors and your knees. All you really need is a couple of different weight therapy bands that you can tie into a look and start doing side steps. It's amazing how hard the work the hip and knees. If you want a description of a couple of exercises you can do with them, send me a PM.

Thank you. I will refrain from doing any exercise at this point. I get upset with myself to easily. When I train I train hard. Most of the time to hard. I normally end up over doing it. To most people this statement would not make sense at all. To me, it is who I am. I used to be an athlete, but work stopped all of that. I have tried taking it slow for many a times, I always end up hurt. Not this time. I will wait until I reach my plateau, before I even consider making an attempt to exercise. Maybe this is my way of taking it slow this time?
