Until today I've been in my happy zone this week, so I've enjoyed indulging. Even though I didn't watch what I ate very well, I still kept up with my daily walks.
Photo Captions:
1) I passed a rock hibiscus (Hibiscus denudatus) blooming right on the edge of the desert trail I take every morning.
2) The morning is also when the side-blotched lizards (Uta stansburiana) are starting their day by sunning themselves to warm up their bodies. These lizards are interesting because they have four genders! They have only one type of female, but they have three different types of males that employ three different strategies in acquiring a mate.
3) I found this near the trail that goes through Little Picacho Wash under some trees. The sign reads "Our dog Sasha, age 14 years, 1-19-08". Good girl, Sasha. 😌
4) I like that we're in view of the Castle Dome Mountains. They're 25 miles away, and strike an interesting pose on the horizon.
5) Cocoa is going to help me learn yoga. Here she's showing me her version of the downward dog. 😉
