Signs of spring are still popping up everywhere here in the desert southwest.
On my walk today, not only did I find a bunch more wildflowers, I also saw a baby owl!

1) I got to see this baby owl! Great Horned Owls (Bubo virginianus) are huge and even this baby was almost as big as an grown chicken. I only had a moment to snap a pic because the momma swooped over my head and hooted at me just as I started snapping. I took off! 🏃♂️
2) Desert Star (Monoptilon bellioides)
3) Desert Golden Poppy (Eschscholzia glyptosperma)
4) Eyed Gilia (Gilia ophthalmoides)
5) At this angle you can see that Eyed Gilia (Gilia ophthalmoides) flowers are at the end of long stalks.
6) I found a whole bunch of yellow cups (Chylismia brevipes) growing together.
7) Downy Dalia (Dalea mollissima)
