I got vaccinated with my first shot today, at last! I am so elated! I got the Pfizer one. Interesting, because in the vaccination centre I went to, they had Moderna last week. In any case, I got a mRNA vaccine!
In Canada (at least in Quebec; each province manages its own vaccination process) the second shot is scheduled 16 weeks after the first one! So I will get my second shot on August 29. Maybe I won't have the intense side effects many Americans had after their second shot.
My arm is a bit sore right now, nothing too serious. If I get other side effects, I will know only tomorrow or the day after. I am a bit sad that we will not benefit from the 95% efficacy rate when the shots are completed within the vaccine manufacturer's guidelines. However, in Canada supply issues can always remain around the corner; we have just received vaccines that were ordered many weeks or months ago.
The weekend flew so fast! Another work week is starting tomorrow morning!
