Day 4 closing my rings... it's starting to be a habit. Yay.

So I read on here that posting pics is a great way to hold yourself accountable and to see progress. (ugh, I hate this!) Seeing the 'before' pic staring you in the face motivates you to get to the 'after'. This is what 5'8", 146 looks like on me. I was a dancer for many, many years so have ridiculously high standards for my body... more than anything, I just know what shape my body is used to being in, and this is not it. Even at 57 y/o, I know I can achieve better tone, flexibility, and stamina. I feel my best about 8-10 lbs lighter, and am used to much more muscle definition and less muffin-top. I am doing home weight workouts alternated with 3-5 mile fast walks 5-6 days a week for exercise. Will keep at it for a month more, then reassess. I'm thinking I may need some professional help (personal trainer, gym) to get where I want to be, the next level... we'll see?? Here is to progress! Slow and steady wins the race :)

I think it's good to have high standards. Unfortunately, it's become the norm to be overweight (not saying you are overweight or even close). It's good not to fit the norm. You know where you feel best.

I am 5'8 at 131# and 57 and have struggled with weight around my midsection. I have been seeing a trainer for 20 months now and work out only 3x a week doing strength training. I also follow macro's that he gave me. My goal was not just my weight but I was working towards a 30" waist. That was the hardest because he said the only way to get there was to get the excess fat off. But as the fat came off the muscles appeared! :-)
