I thought I was done stress eating but my dad’s cancer battle has just gotten intense and although I know I shouldn’t turn to food to deal with it here I am. I will try not to make it a habit, but this is stressful like nothing else.

So sorry to hear...I totally understand. My Dad was in hospice for only one day. So much to go through, very emotional time while trying to be strong. Prayers sent your way

Thank God hospice was approved. It'll be good for all of you. Your Dad won't have to worry about being a burden, and you can all just relax a little and spend time together. I'm sorry he's suffering, and that you're facing losing him. My Dad had lung cancer and mercifully only suffered a couple of months after the diagnosis. When my best friend, my Mom passed (not cancer) it was just awful...but the one thing that really allowed me to even live through it was that I knew she was immediately with the Lord, happy & free & no longer suffering. I'm glad you feel that way...it will give you so much peace. You won't ever stop missing him, but your mind will at least be at rest, even though your heart will hurt. Food has always comforted me, and trying to change that thought process is hard, but just recognize that if you binge once in a while during your struggle, it's OK. You're recognizing it, and that's half the battle. I've been trying not to beat myself up for a slip-up occasionally as long as I stay on track the majority of the time. You certainly have enough to deal with...be kind to yourself. Sending prayers 🙏 🙏 to you and your Dad. We're all here to support you, even if from afar. 🤗

I’m so sorry that hospice is needed but they can be a Godsend! They helped with so much for my mom like baths, hair washings, getting and accounting for medications etc. I think it also helped to have someone who wasn’t family for my mom to talk to. She could complain about family and the hospice nurse could discreetly and nicely tell us what we should do differently without letting us know Mom had complained lol. At least I THINK mom complained, but I did as the nurse suggested whether it was coming from her or mom.
