Came home from work today with a headache, haven't had many lately. Made some iced coffee with skim milk, almond milk, and real sugar. Sometimes coffee will break a headache for me and did not want to use a sub for the sugar. That and some dinner has helped the headache with no drugs. Want to work outside but can't do the sun right now, headache isn't completely gone but tolerable.

Need a workout, guess it will be weights and my ball in the basement after dishes.

Is that an exercise ball or a medicine ball? I need to look into those.

Thanks, Tis doing better it has eased up a lot, it's from my muscles in my neck and shoulder constricting the nerves. Used to be daily after my 4 disc cervical fusion, now just an occasional happening. Glad it's not a migraine. It's occipital so usually causes at least light sensitivity. Just annoying when they interrupt my plans. Big exercise ball, great for stretching other exercises, and use my set of hand dumbells. I have a bunch of exercises I revert to from the PT after the surgery, they taught me quite a few to ease the headaches and arm pain. I just picked up a book that has pilates using the ball and have been trying some of those. Did mostly upper body tonight and stretching, that will loosen the muscles etc. up and it will be gone completely in the morning. Have used a medicine ball at the gym bouncing it off a mini trampoline set at an angle, the trainer had me working on it. Didn't do well as it caused me neck pain. I've seen people using them in other ways but haven't tried.

I'm really into iced coffee lately... things like that come in waves for me. Glad your headache eased up. Those come in waves daily... huge, crashing, blinding, mind numbing waves.

Bella, i haven't had much iced coffee lately because i want milk and sweetener in it. I may start drinking some again, put extra water and coffee in my pot so I have some leftover. I'm sorry if you are getting headaches. That can make things miserable!! I used to have horrible incapacitating ones including chronic migraines. Maybe try keeping track of what is triggering them. My neurologist that my GP sent me to put me on some preventative meds, took trying a few before one actually worked much of the time. He about drove me crazy as had me keep track of foods, activities, how much sleep, the weather, what I was doing, and when the headaches hit, where they started where the pain radiated to, my symptoms. I had notebooks full for a couple years. Then i would go back and document just the few hours before the headache started. What that did was allow my doc and I to isolate most of the triggers for the 3 types of headaches I get. I started eliminating those triggers, weaned off the meds, continued paying attention to triggers and have eliminated more things. Now they are a rare happening. I haven't missed any workdays with a headache in a couple years and the last one was sinus headache and couldn't see straight to drive or focus on a computer screen. Just one migraine so far this year that after work I hid in the quiet and dark. This is the first one like this and my neck has been stiff all week, might have done something not nice to it over the weekend. Makes tracking foods on FS easy in comparison.

i had incapacitating headaches for a little while. i used the app headache pro to track them. none of the migraine apps i found were very good. this one was just acceptable.

They are miserable! What does the app track? Asking so I can let a friend know, maybe she would start tracking hers. She won't even talk to her doc about them.

I've traded cinnamon (sometimes nutmeg or turmeric) in my black coffee for "milk and sugar" cuts the calories and gives and interesting sweetness of it's own~ Be sure and drink plenty of water for headaches~

I'm also really in to iced coffee recently, have not tried one since being on this sugar free diet as I tend to put a lot of sugar into my iced coffees and got my first sugar headache today, makes me feel so guilty! Love the idea of the cinnamon etc would never have thought of that - thank you Sage! Hope you're feeling better Wholefoodnut!

I also brew my coffee with cinnamon, especially since I quit adding milk and sugar

the app tracks time of headache, what you did, what you thought were the precipitating factors and if the treatment you chose works.

That's cool. Would have been handy. Will let my friend know about it.
