Kevin asked me to take 2 weeks off from dieting, no weigh-ins, no food tracking. It's because we're working on our rental house in South Carolina, and we didn't have a way to accommodate my special needs when it comes to food. I thought it was a bad idea, but he promised not to let me get fat again. I thought I would gain 20 pounds, at least, but I'm only 6.6 over my happy zone, so way better than I expected. Hallelujah! Time to get back on plan.

We hired someone to do the exterior where the lead paint is, sk. They used some safety equipment. I'm glad I didn't have to mess with it.

I personally think weighing everyday is the only way to be consistent and avoid getting an inaccurate view. However you should only look at the average across that period and only log once for that period. If you only way once a week, how do you know if you're at the max or the min or in btw for the week? A: You don't. Let's say weight range is +/- 2 lbs for the week about 150 lbs ... Your once per week measurement could vary by 4 lbs. And this can lead to more concern.

(Cont'd) .. many people have emotional attachment to a number which had natural fluctuations. The solution is more data points (weigh-in) per action (post) to smooth things out. Anyway, I will now dismount aerially from my soapbox ☺️

weighing every day broke me away from the emotions around the numbers. won't work for everyone, but did for me. convinced that's what kept me sane during the plague. sanity being a relative thing.

Lonnie, during the first 48 years of my life when I was not overweight, I never had to go hungry to maintain my weight. I also rarely weighed myself. You've been on maintenance for a long time now, so your body has had lots of time to adjust. I'm glad you're reevaluating, because I don't think maintaining your weight should be so difficult. I know you'll figure out what best for you. 🌞

To each their own. I like weighing every am. I keep my scale in the kitchen 😂 I prefer a loss buuuuut I’m not attached to it. You have to expect fluctuations, just roll with it..

I like to weigh every day, but I know there will be fluctuations & don't stress over them. I just spent a week away from both my kitchen scale & bathroom scale. I was OK with that but now that I'm home I'm back to weighing my food & myself. If you feel good at 10 lbs. more, by all means that could be your new normal. What I think I see is you overindulge a bit sometimes & if you continued to eat/ drink the same way you'd likely keep gaining. So you cut back a lot to get back to your acceptable weight fast. Maybe if you go over your "Happy place" you could just cut out the indulgences til you get to your top weight. Don't try to lose as fast so that you can eat more again.
