I had seen customers where I work buy protein shakes such as the Atkins diet shakes. I thought about trying Premier Protein meal replacement shakes like during either breakfast or my lunch. They are expensive though.A full case of them at Sam's club is $30! It eats half of my money if I were to buy the whole case.

But as my husband says- If it's a meal- it's pretty cheap. So technically you could be replacing the shakes with money you'd be spending on other stuff to eat.

I agree with princess. Divide the $30 by how many shakes are in there and then compare that to what you paid for your last meal

If I’m looking at the right ones there’s about 169-190 calories in some of those. Good protein there but not what I’d call a meal replacement depending on your daily calorie goals. Probably tasty but ya pretty pricey IMO. I buy a 31/2lbs container of Dymatize protein supplement at Sam’s for $39 I think and that gets me 55 , 110 calorie servings at .72 each. Add 8-10oz whole milk , maybe some fruit, and you’d be a little closer to a meal replacement maybe? ✌️

I love them and they're great. IMO not so much as a meal replacement though. There's just not enough in it to be a "meal". But they are great either pre gym or post workout along with other things. When I was really wanting to lose a lot. I'd have a shake and some egg whites, maybe some fruit after working out. If we're being honest though everything is expensive now in most grocery stores. Healthier options have always been more expensive than eating bad. To me it's a matter of spending on bad stuff or spending on stuff that is good for you and will also help you lose weight. Premier protein products provide both of those things.

just a thought. i get the whey protein powder at walmart. 2 lb container, 16.00, different flavors, 30 g protein per scoop. not necessarily meal replacement, but quick 30 g protein when not hungry for a meal, blend with unsweet green tea, 12 oz tea. 1 scoop powder, sounds gross but its not,, dairy has more fat than i want to use,

and i get the green teabags that have the panda bear on the box, brew 20 bags in a coffee maker with cinnamon stick in pot as it brews, do 2 pots with the same 20 bags at a time and youll have gallon of tea, pour in pitcher, cinnamon stick in also to let it hang out, untill pitcher is drank,

I used it as creamer in my morning coffee.

Irish, i know people who do that also, its funny but its also a good way to boost protein without having to eat half a cow, and not adding a ton of cal, an 8 oz milk is 8 g protein, add a scoop and you have 38 g protein that quick,

I think they are expensive if your budget doesn't allow for it, which you already stated is the case. If you really want it, I suggest you buy the powder and use it occasionally as a supplement, which it is. I agree with Erq, buy real food. Produce that's in season is usually less expensive. Beans are also cost effective, as are whole grains. If you Google Inexpensive Grocery Shopping Tips or something similar, I'm sure you could find some tips and information you could use so grocery shopping won't be so expensive. 👍😊

Especially long-term, protein shakes and such aren't really great meal replacements because they just can't cover all the nutrition bases. If you wanna supplement one meal a day though, it's a lot more affordable to buy powders and mix your own. Equate brand from Walmart is actually pretty decent compared to brand name stuff for the most part, just be mindful of the sweeteners.

Yeah like tai said plus they don’t fill you up (as least for me) I just use shakes to round out my protein or cal goals for the day

Blessings Morgan and just don’t buy the McDonald’s shakes.🤣 That’s all I can say as I have never done shakes.😊

too expensive for my cheap tastes. powder is fine adding it to stuff like Greek yogurt or making anabolic ice cream, but I'd rather eat real food.

Get Carnation Breakfast Essentials. It was once called Instant Breakfast. Mix with evaporated milk if you like the Ensure-type consistency. Otherwise add to regular milk. Nutritional content is essentially the same.
