I've been trying to keep to under 1500 cals a day, yesterday I had something I shouldn't instead of leaving it at just eating that I thought iv spoilt today so f*** it n had nearly 2000 calories then felt incredibly guilty, why do we do this to ourselves?? Any suggestions on how to walk away after a slip up instead of turning into a binge fest??

Heya, I sometimes do this but I learned the best thing to do is not fuss over it. It's done and it's gone, I'll pretend next day it didn't happened to keep going. One or two slip ups are going to undermine all the great work you've been putting in ✌️

Also if you're a big sugar lover like myself I'd suggest you just swap the usual sweets to sweet alternative, for example the alpro soya custard has so much less calories than the usual custard, you can still have it with half the guilt!

After a slip up, you could try averaging your calorie limit over the week as opposed to daily. That gives you a chance to claw it back over a few days.

Anne's advice is very good if you want to have that peace of mind that you still managed to meet your calorie deficit for the week, I'm a bit more extreme, once I overate 700kcal next day I had a calories deficit of 700kcal and did what I call "f**k it, fix it, forget about it" 😅. In this respect, Anne's advice's more sensible

I average mine for the week which works perfectly and this app has a report which helps.

The key is not to fuss over it as I discovered a long time ago the moment you deprive yourself of a 'forbidden' treat, you crave it even more. So have it and enjoy! I spread my calories over the week. So for instance, if I have a binge which is rare now that I'm using this app, the following day I increase my workout, walking, running etc and eat maybe half of my calorie allowance. This will all help you achieve your weekly calorie deficit. There are so many ways to counteract a binge based on your lifestyle/discipline. You're doing well, you've got this.
