Angela, Good morning. I'll try to be brief in answering your question in a simple form. But it's still going to take me a little bit. I strictly believe in calories in versus calories out. I've actually lost 11 lb without reducing my calorie intake I started with. I was on a wrestler in high school and also competed in jujitsu up until about 10 years ago so I've done multiple ways of cutting cutting weight healthy and unhealthy. I've done a lot of self-experiences for basically 30 years and what has worked best for me especially in the last 5 years is just calories in versus calories out. I started my cut at about 2,500 calories a day. I know my starting point and I probably could have raised it a little bit but I wanted to be a little aggressive in the beginning for psychological reasons. My goal is to get approximately 200 g of protein a day and I don't care where the carbs and the fats fall . I haven't reduced calories at all during the 6 weeks. And to answer your question no I'm not starving. I didn't think like pizza and french toast throughout the whole cut. Tulsa use plain white bread and either egg beaters or egg whites and usually a whole egg or two.

With sugar-free syrup. For my pizzas I use something like a flat out bread that has about 90 calories and I use fat-free mozzarella cheese, regular marinara and turkey pepperoni. Granted it's not your neighborhood favorite pizza shop, but I'm not depriving myself of things that I enjoy. I seem to have more luck with higher carbohydrates and I get more food that way. Carbs in protein have four calories a gram where fat has nine. So in my mind lowering the fat allows me to eat more of the protein and carbohydrates. Although, I do try to get at least 50 to 70 g of fat in a day for hormone regulation and digestion purposes. That is about as short as I can keep it. I would be happy to answer any other questions if you are interested. There's no right way to diet it's all about sustainability and this works best for me. There is a lot of science out there backing up my claims. Also fibers important and I shoot for minimum of 30 to 40 g a day anything higher than that I feel bloated
