The past nine months have been eventful, fun, hard, and a lot of goals reached. Back in June of last year I was 187#. I started out this year at 180# and started Atkins on 2/3/14 @ 177# as of today I am 116#. I can not seem to rap my head around all that I have achieved. I started out the year in a size 16 jeans and now I am in a size 4. Lost 33 total inches
Off my body.
I started running when I started Atkins. The first time I got on the Treadmill to see what I could do if I pushed my self, I ran 1 mile in 13 minutes. My best friend told me about this group that did "My first 5K". We singed up to train and run the race. We trained together once a week with the group and I trained alone four days a week on the treadmill.
We ran the race on April 26 my time was 31:23. I found that in my 12 weeks that I trained I fell in love with running. I found another race to train for and ran my first 10K in 1 hour 1 minute that was June 15. My daughter and I singed up for our local 5K run for July 18. We trained together 3 days a week and I trained 2 days a week by my self. When the time came to run that race I wanted to compete in it not just run it. My husband agreed to do the race with our daughter so I could compete in the run. I ran it in 27 minutes. I could not believe it. I placed 6th.
My daughter finished it in 41 minutes , she is just 6 years old. I am so proud of her. I ran my first color run in August. I kept training clear up to October 1st. I was running 7 miles in 1 hour.
on October the 1St I had a tummy tuck to remove the extra skin that a over all 70# weight loss left me with. I also had a Brest lift and augmentation done at the same time. Now I am healing from that. I have not been able to even get my hart rate up or go for a 1 mile walk. My exercise is none existent at this time until my Surgeon clears me to return to training. I am hoping to be able to run a half marathon in April.

You have done SO wonderful, but don't over due it! Let the healing process take over, you still have time to train and there is always another Marathon!

Take your time and heal - don't rush it. Also, continue to eat healthily while you heal. Job well done
