Today is going to be a double entry - in that - today Monday and the day previous, Sunday.

Yesterday was a pretty good day, visiting with the folks, now in their 80s, for some conversation and a good breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon. They had toast too, but I'm on an intermittent fasting/KETO plan where those kinds of carbs are a no no.

Mom is 'clearing out' the house, trying to make it easier on me when they finally pass. A stark realization of the passage of time and the so brief nature that is our life.

She asked me to take photos of all her heirloom china and tea sets that she is hoping to sell to an antique collector in northern Conneticut.

This makes me understand one of life's fundamental principles, you can't take it with you.

She seems OK with it, so I need to be too.

Why do I mention this? What does if have to do with dieting and food logging?

Pretty simple...I want to be there for them - I need to be there for them.

And right now, I need to get my health in order and at the core of that is this weight loss journey - which has to be successful this time.

So, I stayed on my plan this weekend and today, away from alcohol and have been losing weight steadily.

I'm sure a plateau is fast-approaching, but I am mentally prepared for that.
