I try for a minimum of 40 grams of protein. Really hard to do without eating meat. Having a glass or 2 of milk a day really helps. One of my doctors is vegan and she told me she has to eat lots of beans. I don't like them well enough to have more than a serving a day, if that. I still eat meat, but not that much. I really don't like cooking.

If you're not eating much in the way of beans, it is indeed tricky to get adequate protein going plant based. I've really had to train myself to eat more of them, but I like them. There's always soy. However, nothing wrong with milk if it's working for ya! 😃

I love beans and buy 4-5 different varieties from a grocery in IDaho and one in Arizona. I eat a small, portion controlled serving for breakfast about 5 out of seven days. Usually amounts to about 1/4 cup cooked.

Kenna - it's fun to try the different varieties, isn't it? Right now, I try for 2-3 servings of beans, a serving either being 1/2 cup cooked, 1/4 cup hummus or bean dip. or 3 oz. tofu or tempeh. Yeah, it's a lot. Before anyone asks, your gut DOES adjust to it...
