Last night I ate dinner and looked at my macros and realized I needed more fat, so I made this heavy whipping cream, cacao powder and monkfruit sweetner sort of hot chocolate. It was good, but soon after I started feeling sick and ended up vomiting my entire dinner shortly after. It quickly turned into flashbacks of when I was having gallbladder attacks 20 years ago. That same bile taste in my mouth. Then it dawned on me... I'm eating a high fat diet full of animal meats with no gallbladder. It got me researching keto without gallbladder. I will have to start making adjustments to make this work. I've noticed that since I started keto on Friday that my meals just aren't sitting right in my stomach. So advice I read was:
Add fiber rich foods with every meal.
Eat more plant based oils than butters or animal fat.
Use an acid such as lime, lemon, or cider vinegar to help the liver produce more bile in the small intestines.
So today I did BLT wraps and added Avocado and lettuce and tomatoes. It didn't make my stomach upset at all. But the egg and bacon (with no fiber) with keto coffee this morning did. Trial and error at this point. Still learning.
