keto is not working for me. I've stayed under 30g carbs for a month now. I've lost 2 pounds. Even gained 2 pounds at one point. So...idk. I'm not happy on keto food either. It's not my style. I love fruit and white rice and fresh produce and Berries from my garden. I'm just... not happy eating fats and meat and cheese. It's making me sick when I do fats. I have no gallbladder so I assume that's part of the reason.

Try counting calories, I found that to be the most successful when actually following the plan. I am back on it !!

I'm doing calorie in calorie out n it's working quite well maybe give a try? nothing was working for me before this either n I was totally discouraged but am pretty stoked most days now.

What works for some doesn’t work for others. The key is don’t give up. I love my fruits and carbs too so calorie counting works for me so I can eat a variety of foods but in moderation. Hope you find what works for you 🙌

Usually with a removed gallbladder the diet switches to Low Fat--High Fiber, since your gallbladder is no longer around to digest fats. I would definitely contact your doctor and/or a licensed dietician for a new diet. But in the meantime, I would ditch the bacon and full-fat dairy and replace with lean proteins: fish and chicken and low-fat cottage cheese and yogurts.

If you don't like it, it's not sustainable. If it's not sustainable, it won't work. Plus, JustBananas hit the nail on the head in terms of your missing gallbladder and the usual prescribed diet. Switch gears. Talk to an RD. Find what works best for you and your health. It's a process.

Yea, I am cutting carbs but not going KETO. I like the Atkins bars and I still eat rice and beans and fruit. I have been a stickler on my food journal and keeping an eye on portion control.

Over many years, I have earned calories in must be less than calories out every day for movement to happen. What you eat just needs to be portion controlled. Some of us just do better with certain types of foods.

Keto isn't for everyone, especially if you're miserable on it. The diet that works best is the one you can stick to long term. Although there are a lot of folks on FS doing keto or low carb, there are a few of us having good success with plant based. The Mediterranean diet also is an option. If it's not working for you, maybe it's time to try a different approach. The best part of beating your head against a wall is stopping!

I feel you Vicki. I lost a lot of weight on Keto. You have to eat less and eat less fat than most will suggest. All those fake keto foods and fake sugars kept me from losing weight. If you don’t want to throw in the towel just yet, try fasting. I lost 55 pounds that way. My 4ish hour eating window 2-8pm kept me happy and I dropped a lot of weight. That being said I don’t want to restrict carbs so I’m not on it. Also my stomach hurt in the beginning and then “magically” got better after taking magnesium and adding salt to my food

I agree with justbananas too. I promised I'd give it one month but honestly it's just not for me. I want to eat more plant based like I used to.
