Just as I was beginning to enjoy the Fall foliage, our first snow! Temperature is hovering at freezing. Glad I brought my summer flowers in last night. Weight stayed the same this week and that's OK. Feeling good, not hungry and keeping active. Waited for the sleet to stop yesterday and bundled up and got that usual outdoor exercise. I was beginning to talk myself out of it. I know that would just be the beginning of rationalizing. Then, one slack off leads to the next. Kept with planned foods yesterday despite all of the goodies that were brought into the house. Additionally, I was the one who put them away without eating any. I'm trying to keep sugar and sodium within reasonable ranges. Quality, quantity and quantifying are my priorities now. Do I want to have that apple pie and use my allotment of sugar for the day or do I want to have an apple instead and other small snacks throughout the day to stay on track the entire day? How good is the pie? Often not good enough and doesn't sustain me and I end up overeating. I'm listening to my body and how I feel. Not aiming for a particular weight or clothes size. Got dressed only half awake and in the dark yesterday morning not to wake anyone and thought my shirt was inside out. The shirt has a scrunchy waistband to hide a belly. Last Fall, that shirt only came to my waist. Now it covers my butt. I felt all of this extra fabric that hadn't been there the last time I wore it, got frustrated and wondered what was wrong with the shirt. It suddenly felt weird. Was it inside out? lol Shortening lots of pants too because of smaller hips, These are great reminders that the healthy changes are resulting in healthier weight. Food prep still feels like drudgery sometimes but I do it anyway allowing myself time off from it with a pizza once a week. Being mindful of the sodium in foods not prepared from whole ingredients. Would like to commit to some weight bearing exercises this week. It really is time to stop talking about it and begin doing it. Even fifteen minutes would be something. I'm hoping to make that a habit but I keep finding excuses. No excuses. I can do this for a week.

Hello, I feel satisfaction, strength and self-confidence from your journal. BTW, it is good to see a first snow picture but too early to say "Bye" to Autumn.

I'm in the same boat needing some strength training. My husband said he'd do push-ups if I did, so now I'm doing them most days just to challenge him 🤣 I don't belong to a gym, but have been finding strength training videos on YouTube. Planning on buying some hand weights. Your strategies seem sound -- it's not about never having the apple pie, but discerning how well it fits into your plan. Snow! Hate when it knocks all the colorful leaves off the trees, but I do love cross country skiing 😊

@Anne Estephanie Thanks so much! So glad the snow left as quickly as it came and our trees are still bright with Autumn leaves :)

@writingwyo You are lucky to have him for motivation! I'm so resistant to beginning this lol. The weights are staring back at me every day but I just don't pick them up. Cross country skiing sounds like fun :)
