I am laser focused on reaching my goal weight. Nothing will stop me. If you bet against me, there is a 100% chance you will lose your money. Weight loss is 100% mental. Each day is a one-day challenge. 6 months of dieting is 180 one-day challenges. My plan is keto, 16:8 intermittent fasting, and a minimum of a 3,500 calorie deficit per week. In addition, I am doing my best to consume as much fiber as I can and still be within my keto target of 10% carbs.

Honest question. What’s the point of going keto and fasting if you are still having to count calories? Unless it’s your preferred way of eating which certainly doesn’t seem like it if you have to make yourself do it.

Good attitude! Just remember, bumps in the road will happen...just ride right over them and keep moving forward. I do moderate fat.30-40 grams a day, high protein 100-125 grams a day, and low carbs, 50-80 carbs a day. I need carbs to fuel my workouts..I lost 60 lbs. Good luck on your journey!👍

I apologize if I’m wrong but this app doesn’t allow me to copy n past. But from the name of it I’m ASSuming that you can still gain weight in keto by going into a surplus of calories? What I’m trying is if you’re doing a deficit anyway. It doesn’t matter if you eat carbs or not. 3500 deficit on keto is the same as 3500 deficit on normal eating. You might see a little head start of around 6lbs but that’s water weight (glycogen) leaving your body. I’m saying it’s best to learn to portion control your normal way of eating, that would sustain you better for long term.

don't worry about calories. If you lower them too much, your metabolic rate will drop...permanently. Eat meat and eggs until you are full. A salad or a cup of green cooked veg per day, with butter or ranch dressing. Eat when hungry only. Let your appetite guide you. I'm 67 years old and dropped six jeans sizes on keto, and some days carnivore. My total cholesterol is 170, my triglycerides 42. I am so full of energy I started running and doing HIIT exercises, not to "lose weight' (as exercise helps a person lose on 3 pounds a year), but because I have so much energy, I need to do something with it. It's a great way to eat, but it's not a diet. If/when you go off it, you'll regain. The first three weeks of sugar withdrawal suck. It's an addictive drug, and it hurts to come off it, but in three months, you'll wonder why you ever liked the stuff. Gross!

Weight loss is simply: Calories burned must be greater than calories consumed. So calories DO matter…doesn’t matter what type of diet you follow, although the foods you consume on some types of diets can hasten weight loss more than others. For example, since protein helps with diet induced thermogenesis (DIT), high protein diets can assist with weight loss. That just means it takes more energy (calories) to digest protein than the other macros. Exercise is also important, but eating at a caloric deficit is the main thing…about an 80/20 split if you ask me. The other thing that is key to weight loss is consistency. Figure out what it takes for you to maintain consistency with your food intake and exercise. For me, it means allowing myself to have a cheat meal every 2-3 weeks and walking every day. I’m sure everyone on this app has heard these things before. I’m just stating things from my personal experience that have worked for me.
