Sorry I've been a bit unresponsive the last few days. Not really in a good place. Shoulder is flaring up, and I'm having the big internal debate as to whether I should get it rechecked. Part of my fear is that they'll tell me I can't ski. Difficult situation going on at work. Not office politics fortunately -- an outside challenge. Didn't track and ate terribly yesterday. Will probably take another day or two off tracking, but try to reel the food consumption in and make better choices

I'm thinking maybe, too, liv001. I'm definitely feeling more pain than when I discontinued PT with high hopes this would soon be behind me

They won't say you 'can't', but I hear you. I still have to do PT exercises from a knee injury years ago. When I don't it weakens and screams in pain. Did you stop doing the exercises? Most everyone does, I had to learn the hard way. Take care :-)

Sorry your shoulder is acting up and work stuff. Seems like aches and pains come and go. I know my neuropathy does but glad for the relief when I can get it. Especially, no appointment til April. Stay strong!:)🤗💪

Sadly, LivinBreezy, I did stop. I've restarted. I was so sick during December that I was pretty much flattened. In hindsight, I should have taken more time off work and taken better care of myself. Then I was traveling for a week, so didn't really have the opportunity to do them

I remember. We're 'trained' to work through it. Sometimes you have to take a step back and think 'If this was my friend what would I tell them to do'? Takes practice. Take care of you!

Navywifeski -- I'm still holding out hope that this one will go! Thanks, Morticia 😊 LivinBreezy -- wise advice. If it were a friend, I'd tell them to get it checked out. I've contacted my doctor's office. Thank you! My husband and I talked this morning, and I think I just need to come to terms with the idea that my ski season may be over😢

Very glad you have a supportive caring husband. Those talks are important to be able to have but hold on ... 'over' is very final when most likely you just need to make adjustments. Doctor first, okay 😉

Next year is there indeed, liv. I missed a few years of skiing when I was at my heaviest, and I hopefully have a few more in me. What's frustrating is that other than my shoulder, I felt so stinkin' GOOD on the trail! I couldn't believe what a difference the 20 pounds I lost made! And LivinBreezy -- yeah, I'm pretty lucky with the hubs, although he didn't completely agree with my decision to have it looked at again. I may end up on snowshoes this winter

Do you have access to a hottub? Even a 15 minute soak in the bathtub right after a workout really helps to prevent soreness. I doubt you're done skiing -- even for the season. Probably 4-6 weeks of rest with stretching. Good to hear that you're getting it checked out. Hopefully it's just a strain.😥❤️🩹

I do have a bathtub, JustBananas, but alas, this isn't typical muscle soreness after a workout. I wish it were! THAT I know how to deal with! More tendon inflammation was the way they explained to me. Hurts in weird ways all the way from shoulder to elbow that sometimes make me a little queasy. A deep feeling of wrongness. Depends on how I move it, and the goofiest things hurt -- turning my steering wheel, pouring water into the coffee maker, etc. I managed to get it calmed down today, finally, thank goodness. BTW -- if you like a good hot bath for muscle soreness, I recommend getting yourself some Olba's Herbal Bath. A little spendy, but oh so good!

My bathtub is too shallow for relaxing, but my apartment complex does have a pool and hot tub. Would probably not be allowed to dump in bath salt 😁

Good thing to contact doctor. Sometimes you have to be persistent for them to take you seriously. Or maybe find a doctor who is known for working w/ athletes, they seem to listen more and understand the emotional part of injuries.

The message I got was that they'd sent over a new order for physical therapy, but my PT office said they hadn't received it yet. I'm waiting to hear back from them, and then I'll schedule. And take it easy. No more trying to ski or do push-ups until this heals. Tomorrow we'll go up top, but I'll just hike the multi-use trails while my husband skis
