Saturday night, weigh in this am right on 130# so staying steady. not as much accomplished as I wanted to but still happy with my day. A few over 9,000 steps but I sat a lot, driving and at the memorial service, about 3 hours in the car. Did take crazy pup for a walk around the neighborhood before it started raining again. No other exercise besides walking.

I did get my new shelves in my pantry, they need a bit more painting on the front edges, I can actually do that in place. The door is almost done, I still have the handle to install, which I will do in the am. Then hang the almost full door rack for spices etc. If I could find one that has the spacing I really would prefer. I would replace it and use that elsewhere for something.

I did stop at 2 Indian markets, found the spices I had been looking for and bought a few other items. Also explored an Oriental market that I had been wanting to get to for some time. Picked up some beech mushrooms and some baked tofu.

More rain predicted overnight and a good chunk of tomorrow so it will be stock the pantry day! Hopefully this new organization will help me plan better. At least it's another step to completing the re-do. YAY! I might get my house de-cluttered and cleaned some.

Did not get the hoped for Indian food, nothing was open until 5 or later. Oh well..

I had never heard of beech mushrooms and I looked them up. Funny thing is that my daughter had some in her soup at the restaurant tonight and I was stumped when she asked me what kind of mushrooms they were. Mystery solved. I love Indian food. I have not eaten it for a while though. My husband travels to Bangalore for work several times a year and gets more than his fill of Indian food while he is there. You know, he is in China this week so maybe it is time for some Masala. :)

The Oriental markets here in the spring usually have interesting mushrooms pretty reasonable. I tried most of them I found last year. I really like the little beech ones and the huge King mushrooms. Would love to have some Indian and African food that was made by someone other than myself. I went to an Indian restaurant many years ago with a group for lunch. It was a buffet so wasn't at all sure what I was getting. I was leery of curries back then because I only knew curry as the supermarket spice added to mushroom soup based casseroles -- usually nothing to do with being an actual curry. Since having Thai curries in restaurants shortly after that and learning to make them at home I've learned of the deep interesting flavors of curries from many countries. They also fit well into my WOE plan with many vegetables, beans and legumes. Izzy, maybe if his travel itinerary changes you will get more Indian food!! I will try something with my new spice, amchur, today.

Glen, my theory is that you have to have places to put things you use. If it's easy find things and put them away, it's a whole lot less work cleaning! I have other things I'd rather do than spend lots of time cleaning! Sitting here this morning making labels for spice jars while drinking my coffee.
