Food pantry day, & it was 😑. I handled it way better than I thought I would & sent bakery donuts, a giant container of dried figs and whole milk next door. So much fresh bakery stuff. Hubby kept cherry turnovers & son kept this giant tray of cupcakes & cookie cake. I did eat a cupcake & piece of Cooke cake. I’ve had all of it moved out of areas of the house I use. I mean there was more, too. What I did keep was a giant bag of walnut halves and a bag of dried cherries. Not sure if I will keep the cherries. There’s even more dried dates from last month, too. I might toss them into the field next door for the critters that come out of the tree line.
Got the ice chest & ice. There’s the biggest bag of fresh spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, grape tomatoes & some sickly zucchini. Some of the zucchini and a few onions and apples we were given you can run your finger thru they’re so rotten. Such a waste. Was given chicken breast- will cook that on the NuWave tonight. also received a beef roast & bratwurst. Those are in the chest with a huge bag of Kraft string cheese! Love string cheese- it’s a snack that can last forever.
There’s lots of things I won’t get into to eat- chips, triscuits, loaves of French bread, pasta, dry beans etc.
Pretty sure the ice chest has more room than the broken fridge, so that cool. Hubby’s job has been closed since last week & still not open so that is scary. At least having food security this week is one less worry.
