So I'm putting my foot down with bread! I'm going to try a low carb lifestyle for the next 30 days and if it isn't to hard with my limitations I'm going to really buckle down with it. I did Atkins before but I ate meat then and I lost weight. I just get really bored without pastas and bread but I think that this is the real reason for the scale fluctuations! 15 years Ago I was pregnant with my son and developed gestational diabetes so I know I'm sensitive to carbs. So new hopes in the am!!! 😇

I lost almost 60 lbs sticking to a low carb diet (aprox. 100 carbs per day). It's not easy especially with kids but with determination you can do it. You are more than welcome to look at my historical food diary that way you can get an idea of what to eat. I just upped by carb intake because I started working out more. Good Luck!

You might wish to revisit Atkins. Atkins 40 is a program which includes whole grains (breads and pastas), fruit and starchy veggies right from the start.

Try running on COMPLEX CARBS only.... Sweet Potatoes, Brown rices, whole oats. Bread will get you every time. "Whole Wheat Bread is almost a Trick. yes it is the better choice between the two breads. however the so called whole wheat in whole wheat breads is pulverized and refined into such a fine powder that it has essentially the same effect as the bad guy White Bread, don't go to low on carbs, They provide us with our primary source of energy .. which a lot of our metabolic systems need.. believe it or not if you cut carbs to low your body will respond by packing on fat, because the body begins to think that it no longer gets energy so it wants to keep as much as it can. I recommend 1G per 1lbs of body weight daily!! good luck.

I wish you best of luck with it! For me, it was one thing that I definitely do better without; wheat can give people a fairly hard time. I have a diabetic father, and younger brother. Of the two, my dad has started to really rethink his eating patterns - his cardiologist, who was a low-carber, got on his case hard for his very carby (whole wheat/corn/bean) diet and he's had to rethink his entire way of eating. Atkins/Keto isn't the only angle, though, and I can also recommend this site and WOE if you're looking to address health issues nutritionally. I offer it only as food for thought! It's not quite a diet so much as a general guideline. Sweet potatoes generally get a pass - grains do not. Pasta and bread would kill me - metabolizes down to sugar. low carb saved me.

What is 8 lbs amongst friends? Try doing the math and cutting back on the carbs. Really start tracking your food using the great tools on this site. Look up how many calories it takes to maintain the weight you are now each day and then reduce your calorie intake to 500 calories less than that per day. At the end of the week you will have lost a pound of fat sine a pound of fat = 3500 calories. The cool thing is that afar a while you will be very mindful of what you are eating. The best thing is that you can always implement the Atkins principle to lose even more weight and don't forget the exercise and increased activity bc that will just blow it all up!
