Haven't done canned tuna this way, but make canned salmon patties often. Whole eggs in our house. If you get the wild caught Alaskan salmon with bones and skin, it's not too expensive. Looks horrible when you dump it out of the can, but once you mush it all together, the skin isn't noticeable (and adds Omega 3s). The bones are soft enough to be edible, so you don't have to remove those either. They add some calcium, but also a bit of a mild crunch that not everyone likes. I get 8 patties from a can + 2 eggs, which is enough for a couple of meals for the 2 of us, so in the grand scheme, not too expensive. Plus, I figure I'd rather pay my grocer than my doctor 😉

Cheesy - I always loved the little crunch, even as a kid when my mom served them. But I was also the kid who chewed the tips off the chicken wings. It's only the vertebrae you'd even notice, and those you could pretty easily remove. Some people can't get past the initial visual, though 😳

Lol same here. I would eat the white bones off of spare ribs. And the cartilage off of chicken bones.
I bet salmon would be great! Should be on my next grab at the groceries. Anyone have ideas for canned mackerels?? 😏

Cool cheesepuff! Canned tuna went up by a dollar just the other day... so mackerel is now the cheapest canned fish lol it doesn’t need anything other season besides spice?

Yes!!! It’s terrible, it’s a 50% increase! Like for 2 cans now I could of gotten 3 before. Mackerels are the better deals now. Yes tell me how it goes lol I will be switch to mackerels. Tho I’m not a picky eater, I’d just heat it up n eat it with rice 😂 but recipes would be nice!

It was pretty good, especially for the macros… I did one with mayo & didn’t love it, but this one had balsamic & olive oil and it was good. They benefit from a lot of acid IMO (but then again you don’t want it too wet). But I really like canned meat & fish…
