Throwback Thursday!

Good morning everyone! I kicked some serious ass yesterday. I started out with a gym trip even though it seemed the world was dead set against me going. First I realized that my husband had taken my SUV to work and left me his car because his car needed gas and he didn't have time to get gas before work. No problem. Then I realized my tot watch money was in the glove box of my SUV. Crap. It's only two dollars an hour though, so I hunted throughout the house until I found eight quarters. Whew. Then when I got the the gym the power steering went out. Son of a biscuit.Oh well, I was already there might as well work out and deal with it later, so I did. Thirty minutes on the treadmill really kicked my butt, but some of that probably had to do with the fact that I donated blood a couple days ago. It will take a while to get my red blood cells up to what they were, until then I'll be a little easier winded. It wasn't bad though. I checked the power steering fluid level and it was good, and didn't give me much trouble on the way home.

According to thy fitbit I burned just over three thousand calories yesterday, and I wasn't wearing it when I mowed the lawn or when I was in the pool, so not a bad day. For some reason I can't possibly fathom, it seems easier to me to meet my intake goals on days that I exercise than on days that I don't. I guess I need to get my buns to the gym more regularly.

Mentally starting to prep for the camping trip next week. We will be gone from Tuesday until Friday. I'm packing all the food and it's a little stressful. Any ideas, tips, things you like to take?? Feel free to share!! This is my first time tent camping with kids and I could use all the advice I can get. Looking forward to some time to disconnect next week from the hustle and stress of everyday life, school etc. I will be staying as active as possible every day, and the plan is to pack good healthy meals and avoid alcohol and sugar while I'm on vacay. I've had enough of both of those over the last few weeks.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Great job on the workout! Hopefully the trip will be good and you'll find some healthy options. I'm not a camper, so I don't have much good advice on food other than things like nuts, granola, and dried fruits and/or veggies. Have fun!!

Hi Yo - have not checked in with you in a while. Sounds like you are doing great. As for the vacay - we always used to camp when I was a kid. Lots of campfires require some graham crackers, marshmallows and a bit of chocolate to make S'mores (atleast once). Popcorn popped over a fire is one of my favourites. You can keep that simple as the flavour comes from the fire. Otherwise we always had lots of hamburgers, hotdogs, lots of simple sides, like pickles, tomatoes, potato salad, mustard and ketchup. Keep it simple so your prep time while camping is minimal. Hot chocolate on a cool evening is fun too - topped with a sugary marshmallow if you dare. Remember your washup stuff, dish pan and detergent, etc. Above all, have fun. My parents are now 80 and 88 and I STILL fondly remember all of the fun we had on our camping trips. Enjoy - I'm only a bit jealous...
