ajbusjahn I'm amazed at what people can lift on this app. the dedication and consistency is truely Incredible. I dont have anywhere else to compare it to though I dont talk about lifting with anyone outside of here and I don't trust anything on YouTube or tik tok as far as lifting with the rampant use of PEDs. anyway nice work again John keep it up

And otb for sure. There’s a dude name jmac on TikTok that talks about steroids for powerlifting and that even on the amateur circuits it runs rampant. He explains how the powerlifters use to for a strength advantage where they would only inject around the competition window so they won’t gain much size and get all the strength from it

SG nice thing about a bodyweight OHP is you have a chance of doing overhead push-ups 😂

CG, I mentioned pinkies because I try to have my hands fully inside the rings — a narrower grip is more of a challenge, for me at least, and in competitions they will disqualify you if you’re too wide.

ajbusjahn -- to your point -- men's novice bench press is around 0.75x (novice squat is ~1.25x, novice deadlift is ~1.5x). But "novice" here is a term of art... someone might have to train a year plus to get there, maybe even 2. I've been consistent for the last 18 months, so I'm more or less on track. It's encouraging to me how predictable the process is -- if someone shows up consistently and trains correctly then you can almost figure out how much they lift from how long they've been training!
