Beach trip booked with my friend Stanci in a few weeks. I haven't been to Galveston in 5 years. Splitting hotel costs is so much easier. Got a room facing the gulf. It gets Wayne off the hook for going to the beach again. He isn't wild about the beach. I haven't been in a swim suit in even longer, like 9 years. So I may do that too. I can't swim but my enjoyment of the beach is more the sound of waves and the atmosphere.

It is never too late to learn. Just get a couple of private lessons. You look wonderful now— I would definitely pick up swimming as a new activity since you can rock a bikini!

It's been 40 years since I was there, I probably would not recognize the place any more, I was born in Houston and grew up in Conroe, about 40 miles north on I-45

Just got back from from Florida & I totally enjoyed the Beach.That's in spite of the fact I never got in the water past my ankles. There was a riptide & we couldn't get in to swim. There was a short break Saturday morning when we were allowed in the water but I didn't chance it. There were 2 huge pools, but we spent most of the time on the beach. Like you, I love the atmosphere. Sadly, 3 people drowned over the weekend while we were there.
