Vegan banana cookies fresh out of the oven. No added sugars or sweeteners -- strictly sweetened by the banana. So good. I had 3 for breakfast & my husband snagged 2 on his way out the door to go mountain biking. These may become our new trail food

How do you make? I looked at the recipe but it says 4 servings of flour? Are they chewy, crunchy? Would love to try!

omg... everyone is killing me today

YOH - I got the recipe off the Elephantistic Vegan site https://www.elephantasticvegan.com/sugar-free-banana-cookies/ The 4 servings of flour you're seeing is 1/2 cup of almond flour. I substituted 3/8 cup whole wheat flour and 1/8 cup flax meal for the all purpose flour because I'm temperamentally incapable of following recipes as written. I meant to add seeds but forgot. Next time. Speaking of recipes...I should give you fair warning never to trust mine. I enter them simply to track my nutrition, so I often skip spices and have no directions other than Cook, Cook, and Cook to fill in the required 3 lines 🤣

Killing you in what sense, unity?

Oh, and they're very soft and cake-like. I think I underbaked mine a little, but everything takes longer to bake at high altitude

Lol!! I am so hungry, writingwyo! Just wanna eat everything I see other people posting! 🤣

Definitely going to give these a try!!!! Will let you know. I have two left feet for baking/cooking so fingers crossed!

YOH -- these were super easy. I would recommend mixing the dry ingredients separately before adding to make sure the baking powder gets evenly distributed. unity -- there are a lot of good foods posted here! I guess I'm unusual on FS because when I'm hungry...I eat. I simply don't do hungry well. Granted, it took me a year to lose 20 pounds, but I feel like I can keep doing what I'm doing indefinitely to keep it off

I was just looking around at this website!!! I love it. I am quasi-vegetarian so its perfect for me (no four legged animals and very few other animals to be honest)

Similar here, YOH. I've decided I just can't stomach meat other than fish and seafood any more, so pescetarian it is, with veganish-leanings. There are soooo many wonderful vegan and vegetarian foods out there, and the options keep getting better at restaurants, even here in cow country. You might also try the It Doesn't Taste Like Chicken and the Make it Dairy Free sites -- my favorites. I can also recommend the cookbook The Veganomicon

Veganomicon? Is that related to Comic-Con? Like funny vegans?😂. A lot of my extended family is vegetarian tho i grew up with animal protein so im very familiar with some of the vegetarian options but haven’t heard of make it dairy free. Seen the doesnt taste like chicken in the store will give it a shot. You like it?

Hadn't thought of it that way, YOH 🤔 😂 I've used the It Doesn't Taste Like Chicken website, but not her cookbooks. Make it Dairy Free has a YouTube channel, too, that I enjoy, although I haven't seen him post in a while

Makes me wish I liked Bananas :-)

I love this idea! I may try this if I can just use oatmeal. Staying away from flour since it’s too calorie dense.

Oddly, Adiposeman, bananas are not my favorite thing. I'm thinking this could be made with applesauce instead. Cheryllyna - I would think oatmeal would be just as calorically dense as flour. I used 3/8 cup of whole wheat flour and 1/8 cup of flaxseed meal to bump up the fiber content. They're definitely not over the top in terms of calories as is.If you use oatmeal, I'd suggest grinding it into oatmeal flour. I don't think the almond flour alone is going to be enough.

I’m going bananas too 😅 Mix one banana to every smoothie I blend 🍌

MattRide -- have you ever tried 1 banana + 1/2 avocado + your choice of milk + cocoa powder = chocolate shake?
