Lean Ground Beef was on sale $7.70/kg... which of course works out to 77 cents/100g... since I portion meats in 100g units, this is a nice savings, 13 burgers for $10... I love my Burger Press! I am making my own 'seasoned' burgers with 1.3kgs of it... the other 1.3kgs I will portion into 100g units as well, but with no seasoning. Then it all gets bagged n tagged for the freezer, except one I will have today, so what looks like a rather late breakfast, or early lunch. Still trying to run a restricted eating plan, but modified it a little... I cannot eat at 08:00-09:30... more like 11:00-11:30 works better for me. This moves lunch up to 14:30-15:00, and Dinner to 19:00-19:30... which is borderline too late to eat, since bed time is around 22:00-23:00. I may have to look into lowering my dinner portion.

Hmmm seems either my scale is out, or theirs is... it was stamped as 1.39kg which should translate into approx~14 x 100g patties, plus an extra 138g patty... cool :-)

MorticiaAddams, I wake up in various levels of pain every morning, and it can take till around 11:00 before my system calms down, and I feel hungry. I have been trying to 'normalize' my eating schedule, but my normal is not 'normal' I guess.

😭 Whyyyy didn't America change to the metric system years ago lol. I pay about $4-5.99 USD PER pound. The cheap stuff in the tube just tastes gross.

We are fortunate here, that Canadian Beef is not heavily drugged and medicated like usfda Beef, so even the cheap stuff is decent... as for the metric system, the standards for the usofa SAE are set by metric standards, it was only lobbying by the usofa manufacturing conglomerates that stopped it... I watch a few usofa mechanic shows, and they use metric, since cars with all their imported parts are all in metric now. Even the nazi defector that helped NASA get to the moon, hated the SAE system and worked only in metric... but the UI for the astronauts had to have SAE interface, so had to use up valuable computer space (remember a computer back then had very limited memory) to translate it to readouts that were 'intuitive' to them... not changing to the metric system has cost the usofa billions in mistakes. Only the usofa and two third world countries (Liberia and Myanmar ) still officially use SAE standards. I was taught the metric system in 1967 when I was 9, so it certainly isn't hard to learn.

Metric isn't hard to learn. Science is taught using metric and most machinery is metric. But common things like recipes and food use cups.

I noticed that many of the online recipes are starting to offer a usofa or metric option... most chefs use weight and not volume anyways. Here grocers love to confuse shoppers by using lbs, with kgs in small print. This seems odd since we have many immigrants here that have never used the imperial system, and most Canadians understand metric just fine. I find the biggest aversion to the metric system is conception of mass... people can relate to what 1lb of burger looks like, but not what 454g looks like. I was making signs when we switched to metric, so got a crash course in speeds and distances, which probably helped my conversion... I do find many of the old-timers are stubbornly clinging to the imperial system though... I guess adaptation is not for everyone.
